Default Backsplash tile installation

I am looking for someone to install backsplash tiling for our kitchen, we have the tiles we want to install, but need someone to do the job. Anyone have any recommendations for the job? I have interviewed one person so far, just want to get three quotes and then decide. Thanks

Debbie - Just a suggestion. Tile backsplash is a relatively easy DIY project. You will need to rent or purchase a tile cutting saw, glue and grout and you are on your way. Lowes or Home Depot will put you on the right track. I installed a tile backsplash in my CYV here and in my home in CT when we remodeled the kitchen.

Just a thought and you have to feel comfortable in your abilities to start the project. Good luck

Thanks for the replies thus far. There are 10 outlets to trim around, these are interlocking pieces, so no grout, and nope, I do not feel my ability to trim around all 10 outlets are good enough to DIY. I do a lot of DIY projects, heck, this past week, I learned how to raise my own sprinkler heads where I had to. I have totally redid front gardens from pulling out plants/shrubs, planting new that I picked out and put weed mat down after that and then going for mulch around them all. That is a lot of sweat and work, I am not afraid of work, just not cutting tiles, and then adjusting all the outlets to perfect position with new tiles.

I have a great tile guy that has done multiple jobs for me and has always exceeded my expectations. He has done 3 back splashes for me personally as well as putting tile throughout my entire home. I have referred him multiple and EVERYONE has been thrilled with his work and with him. Here is is contact info: Daniel Downes, owner of Triple Crown Tile and Stone 352-427-4825. Daniel is a very pleasant family man, always dependable, and does all the tile laying himself.

I would be shocked if you had tile for a backsplash that did not require grout. Even those interlocking type require grout. Anyway, interested in a barter system? If you really do that type of landscaping work, I will come do your backsplash and you come do some yard work for me. I got mulch, weeding, moving shrubs, and other outside work that needs doing.

I have done tile and backsplash work and have all the saws and tools needed. So want to trade labor?

l2ridehd, I really do that kind of landscaping, but it is not a business of mine, do it for my home and my in-laws place. I do enjoy gardening and such. Thanks for the offer of a barter system, I will have to say no to that, getting to the time of year that even I can only handle the heat outside so long. And yes, the tile I have does not require grout, though from the last interview I just had with a contractor, this tile will not work, too hard to interlock the pieces, will crack. Bummer as it really "looked" nice. Have to take it back and get some other tiles now. He helped me picked out some design and wrote up a material list for the new style I am going for and this will need grout. Price was good, so I am set. After the job is finished, I will share my experience.

Thanks all who gave their suggestions.

Thanks, Lbmb24101 . Bill Parker got the job. I love his attitude and he made my material purchase easy and breeze. He replied quickly and his knowledge impressed me enough to hire him. Will post a follow up next week after the job is finished.
