Default Shipping my auto; any recommendations

I have to ship my automobile out west. I can Google available companies that transport automobiles but would rather have a recommendation from someone who has used a company's services.
Anyone out there have a recommendation?

Four years ago, I bought a car on ebay that was in New Jersey and had it shipped to California. Got a quote on ebay from dependable auto shippers. Car got there in good shape and when promised.

We have used Horseless Carriage from Pa. to Florida (based out of NJ) and Exotic Transport out of Orlando from Florida to New York. We were VERY pleased with both!!!

When we moved here, we drove in one car and had the other shipped by Dependable Auto Shippers. Car arrived in very nice shape and on time. They do a meticulous inspection when you deliver it to them (or they pick it up). I paid extra to have my car on the top of the trailer so liquids, oils, etc. wouldn't drip from cars overhead.

While we're on this subject, do these carriers charge a flat rate from one location to another, or is it by mileage? Thanks...

The carrier I used charged a set fee for transport from one location to another. There were additional fees if you want it picked up at your home instead of dropping the car off at a terminal, and another fee if you want it delivered to your destination instead of picking it up at the terminal. There were also additional fees for placement on the trailer (top of bottom) and for using a covered carrier. Can't think of any other add-ons at this time. The web site for Dependable is pretty complete IIRC.

Thanks. They do have good information on their web site.
