Default Soft Pressure Washing for Roof

Can anyone recommend a contractor, at a reasonable cost, that will use a soft pressure washer to clean roof

Leprechaun Softwash, 352-751-2325.

If your roof is less than 10 years old, you can get this done for free under your Certainteed roof warranty.

Thanks, it's more than ten - I called Lepredhaun; their pricing is high

I had mine done by Leprechaun, but it was free. They did a good job. If you hire someone else, make sure they know what they are doing, so they don't damage your roof.

You may try Egner's, 352-728-8537, but their price starts at $625 for a 1200SF house. In any event, I would not allow any company to do work on my roof unless they were licensed and very experienced. You don't want someone falling off of your roof. Good luck.

I'm in DeSoto so my roof is less than 10 years old and black mold is growing. How do I go about getting it cleaned under warranty.

thanks, Joe

Call Certainteed, 800-345-1145, and file a warranty claim. I would suggest that you tell them that you have roof stains, but don't be specific about what you think it is. Or, call Leprechaun, 352-751-2325, for specific information.

In my case, Leprechaun came out and authorized the cleaning, and they did it a few weeks later.

If you have a Certainteed roof and it's less than 10 years old and you are not more than the 2nd owner, you file a claim over the phone with Certainteed and they clean the roof for free.

You need to tell them the truth about ownership because they lookup you home's county records and they will deny your claim if you are the 3rd owner or more. My neighbor had this problem.

I had an old shed in my back yard that was covered with moss and mildew. I sprayed the roof with wet and Forget. Within three months it looks brand new! Try it first.

I have used Spray and Forget or Wet and Forget and it works well. It will take a couple of months to clear the mold. Can be in a pump sprayer of hose-end sprayer.

I used Wet & Forget on moldy/mossy roof of a cottage in the woods and problem gone. Used it on awning and problem gone. Used it on RV roof/siding and problem gone. Splashed some on my wife and still waiting....

I DIY Wet N Forget. It reaches 30’, so there was only a couple of feet at the very top of the roof pitch that was not done. I went to the top of the ladder, not on the roof, and treated the north side which was the affected area.

Joe:
I have a house and a rental in Wisconsin. My northern exposure had moss, mold, and Algae on it. I used Wet & Foget on it. It's simple. Just spray it on with a simple pump spray or they have a hose end sprayer. Spray it on and wait for the rain to wash it all off. It works great. It's about as non-intrusive as possible. I have also used Wet & Forget on a few roofs, including just yesterday. It works slowly, lasts for years and no stress on the roof. You have to have a lot of faith in the power washer that they don't turn up the force to get the job done quicker. I've seen some striking damage done to roof and siding by power washers using excess force.
