Default washer dryer

Was in Home Depot and found myself standing in front of a $2200 in washer dryer combo. Clearly, it has been a long time since we bought a washer or dryer. Where do people buy their washer and dryer and any suggestions for good quality but not break the bank. Spending money on boring activities is difficult.

Have you looked at HHGregg in Ocala? Watch their ads in the paper. Also Sears might be a good place to check as well. We've generally shopped around (if not an emergancy purchase) for the best deals w/sale prices!

Is there a Loews, or a Best Buy nearby? You can get washer/dryers for far less than $2200.00 I think the front load machines tend to be significantly higher than the older looking top loads...

I agree with you, it is hard to spend money on boring stuff...

Default Love my front loader

Front loaders are higher in price but also higher in performance! You get what you pay for....love mine and can't imagine going back to the "old" kind. If it's in the budget, give them a try. You will be amazed at how great they work. Get the largest load capacity and you'll cut way down on your loads of laundry as you can fit much more in them. Less water, less work too!

You might try Lowes. My 7 yr old Whirlpool died last week and we went to Lowes specifically to purchase a replacement Whirlpool. We have always had Whirlpool both dryers and washers and have never had a problem, but the salesman told us Whirlpool has bought out Maytag and to try to bring back Maytag's good name they are putting all the bells and whistles into their Maytags. We purchased a Maytag top loader (which I wanted) with the low water requirement and low detergent requirement for $499 installed. They delivered the next day and gave me a lesson on doing washing with this new low water/low detergent technology. We are more than happy with our purchase.
