Hmmm i will ask you, where do people from ca go to buy a new tv? The villages is part of the USA therefore it is no different than ca. ( except for the taxes and liberal mindset) You can hook up to your wifi in 4 minutes yourself

Hi Bill and Sabrina,
First, of all welcome to the Villages!
Our huge recommendation is for Costco, They have a 2 year warranty plus their visa credit card gives you another 2 years. Their phone concierge gives prompt accurate answers plus they have a direct line to which ever TV manufacture you choose.
here is a direct link for the over 75" T.V. Access Denied Many other smaller sizes online at Costco.

Sorry the post dropped link to Costco. Just google Costco then onsite select TV and size range. The general public can see and compare prices. However, sometimes there are members only pricing. This could be coming up for Fathers Day sales. You must sign in with membership number. Again talk to me and I will get prices for you.
Don't forget mounting stands etc. also at Costco.

Don't forget that most major credit cards will double your warranty up to an extra year.

I'm still using the Zenith TV I bought brand new at Wallmart in 1988. It has a great 30" picture and the sound is also good. (It may be stereo, but I could not figure that out since there is more taking on the new reports than them playing music!) The remote broke when it was stepped on by Taylor last Thanksgiving. (Not on purpose!) However, I was able to get one of those remotes that will work on all TV sets. It took me over an hour on how to get the remote to work with the TV, but I can now change channels with ease!

I had Tony Salatan help me in getting the set to where I wanted it to be when I moved here about ten years ago. He's a great guy and I suggest that you give him a call!

That's two different things. If you buy a TV in the store, you pick it up at the store and take it home. You can have Tom at Villager AV Villages AV set it up for you. You can set it up yourself, it's not hard to do, I've done many. You pay Best Buy for delivery and set up for $50, but that's all you get.

Best Buy Service

The TV will have a warranty, usually for one year. You can buy an extended warranty. I would only buy an extended on a product you take to the store, a laptop computer, a printer or something similar. For a larger item like a TV, I would join Geek Squad. They say you have 7 days to join after you take the TV home. However, I had a 2017 Samsung TV go black in 2019 that I purchased from Best Buy. I only had the manufacturers one year warranty. I called BB and they let me purchase the Geek Squad membership at that time for $199 for a year. They came to the home and diagnosed the problem, came 4 days later with the part and fixed the TV. I had to pay for the part and $50 for the initial visit and then I coverage for the remainder of 12 months.

I just got a renewal notice for another year of Geek Squad. I cancelled the renewal, why have it when the TV is working fine. Just buy it when the TV goes out, and then it's good for 12 months from that point on.

In reality I'm done paying to repair a TV, you can buy a newer better product than the one you're having fixed for only a couple hundred more than what Geek Squad is going charge to fix the old TV.

Beware of Samsung products. When buying appliances from Sears I was thinking of Samsung and was told by the salesperson to be careful with Samsung because it is very hard to replace parts and there are a lot of problems with their products.

We bought our Samsung 45" LED set from Best Buy in 2010, and it has worked flawlessly. I was sorry to see so many posts here of Samsung buyers who had problems. We are grateful we didn't.

A year or two ago, we went into Best Buy just to get information about what was involved—and what would be the cost—of a larger screen. We were just looking for information—and ended up buying virtually on the spot a highly rated 65" LG display model because we could not resist the price: $450 + wall mounting bracket. It plays fabulously—and the Samsung (which in 2010 cost considerably more) is continuing to give good service in our bedroom to the extent that we use it.

We don't subscribe to any commercial television (cable or satellite), so generally speaking television is not very important to us.
