Default Window treatments

Can anyone recommend someone to do my window treatments? We moved into our Lantana 10 days ago. We have blinds but I need window treatments now. If anyone has any recommendations (good and not super expensive), please let me know. Thank you.

I am trying to find someone to do window treatments also. Did you ever find someone ? It seems difficult to get any where on this. I did see a couple in Wildwood, there probably are some in Ocala - but i usually like referrals.

Thank you !

Yes, I found someone to do my windows. Her name is Darlene Starner and her shop is in Belleview. She did all my windows at a reasonable price. Here is her contact information

I live in The Village of Liberty Park and I have a business doing custom window treatments. I have a degree in Fashion Design and have been doing custom sewing for over .... well, a LONG time :-) . If you are still interested or know of someone else who is interested, please email me or call me at: 638-2432 or 430-0101.
Thanks,
Janenne

Default Just a thought. Sewing machines cost about a hundred bucks

If you can sew a straight line, you can make wonderful ungathered valances and put them with very well made draperies from JCPenneys.

Too line them just sew lining material to the back. I made a simple valance for my big slider in the Camellia's great room and used closable lined ivory draperies from Penneys.. I like that so much better than vertical blinds. It feels so pretty at night.

No, I wasn't asking for help...I make custom window treatments for others. You are right, however, that if one has the equipment and sewing knowledge, they can do their own...or buy already made from JC Penney or Target or wherever. I deal in "custom" for those people who want something special and/or different at a good price. Thanks for sharing your comments.

Default Oh Patches. I didn't mean to give you advice.

Sorry. I didn't mean to give you advice. I am sure that your sewing ability is much greater than mine.

I love the look of window treatments in a home. I am sure that yours are just beautiful....And far better than what I cobbled together.

Hi Graciegirl:

You are TOO funny...I certainly don't need an apology...but thanks for being such a sweet and considerate person to offer it. :-)

I too LOVE window treatments. They make a house a home and express your personality. That's why I love doing them and dealing with different people and different houses. Each home (even the same models) come out different and it's so much fun to be a part of that. I always try to use "things" that are different in my creations...like hanging valances onto mounted dock cleats with grommets & rope, instead of using a boring rod or pole with rings :-) I also try to be economical and that sometimes entails using store bought things, like sheer panels, because in most cases it is cheaper to buy ready-made sheer panels than to make them. I have also been known to use new sheets to make treatments. Sometimes the color and/or patterns are exactly what are needed and the fabric hangs well and it's less expensive than buying fabric. I love what I do and if I can ever help you in any way with ideas or whatever...just give me a call @ (352) 430-0101 or 638-2432...and we'll meet and talk...no charge to you of course!!! :-)
