Two options: 1. for two weeks ask if your friend or neighbor went to the rally. If so, stay away from them. 2. if you are afraid, stay home. People are constantly in crowds, traveling and coming back here. Or, you have large numbers of part year residents coming here from high virus areas and potentially infecting you. If you are afraid, stay home.

The pictures in The Villages Daily Sun today clearly show most people not wearing masks. With the exception of one photo on the cover of today's paper.
We are nearing 224,000 deaths from Corona Virus in the United States. Use your heads. Wear a mask and social distance. There was no social distancing in any of the pictures. |

Thankfully we live in America where we have the right to choose where we go, what we do and how we act. We are blessed.

![]() ![]() According to the EXPERTS there is no worry about the spread of covid at protests. The reason why.......... 1. The protests took place outdoors, allowing the droplets containing the virus to disperse or evaporate. Even opening a window is a key step in keeping viral droplets from lingering. One early study of 1,245 coronavirus cases in China found that only one instance of transmission occurred outdoors: a close conversation where two men also shook hands. 2. The majority of protests also occurred during the day in June, which means sunlight was at play. When exposed to simulated sunlight in a lab, 90% of the virus was inactivated every 6.8 minutes. So there, It seems that since protests are outside there is little chance of catching Covid at one. I would say the same would apply to an outside political rally. YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. |

I didn't go to the rally.....I don't like crowds or parades...never did. Instead I chose to watch FOX NEWS for coverage. I got a better view, was comfortable, and heard better.
That said, I didn't make note of ''social distancing" as it was an outdoor venue. Masks? Well that's a personal choice. This Country is first and foremost all about freedom. As for being concerned about Covid. Well, I'm not. If I get it, I get it. However I will get over it. (and I'm in the susceptible group). You watch the news, and they say that we need more testing....and then they say that 7,000 more people had Covid today. Geez...how did they know. Maybe more (7000) people DID get tested. The newscasters are speaking out of both sides of their mouth, so I don't believe in much of what they have to say. My own, uneducated and humble opinion of Covid, is that it isn't as deadly as the newscasters and politicians (some of them) say. I believe that it is seriously dangerous to a certain segment of the population, and just an irritant to the rest. It "weeds out" the vulnerable people. Kind of a viral "survival of the fittest". In the long run, it may be good for the world, as it may provide them with an immunity for other viral infections.....who knows. What I do know is that for some people it provides sadness and uncertainty. That part of it is bad. Just my 2 cents. |

Here's the truth: Coronavirus Likely Will Infect Us All. Lockdown is Delaying the Inevitable. www[dot]acsh[dot]org/news/2020/05/11/coronavirus-likely-will-infect-us-all-lockdown-delaying-inevitable-14779 We have the flu every year like clockwork even though "we have a vaccine". Lockdowns are nonsense. Masks do nothing to change the eventual outcome. In fact, they prevent herd immunity that so many people say they have as a goal. You can't become immune if you aren't exposed. Take your mask off. Go out to eat. Sing at church. If you are at risk or immune compromised, don't do any of that stuff. But, don't think that wearing a mask is doing anything except ruining our lives (our economy, our country, etc). That's it. Move one. The NY Times reports 70,000 new infections in a single day. Good! Let's get it up to 700,000 or 7,000,000 per day and get this thing over with. Reminder: for the vast majority of the population (97+%), this is a non-event. Infection does not mean death. For some it doesn't even mean "sick". For most, it's just like the flu. And, we've never shut down the country or the economy because of the flu. Shocked at people not wearing masks? You're part of the problem. |

You have a lot of people shouting at these kind of events which is encouraged by the host. Not discouraged. Wear a mask when interacting with other people to minimize the risk of transmitting the virus. Quote:

Tell that to the almost 224,000 people who have died from this here in the US.

Not in some of the pictures in The Villages Daily Sun today. About 75% do not seem to be wearing masks.

Masks were required in order to pass through security, masks were given out all day. People in bleachers were for the most part, military families who had preferential treatment, they earned it!
