The Newhart show where he was an inn keeper had the best series finale of all time!! Still to this day.

That great ending of his show, with him in bed with his earlier show co-star, Suzanne Pleshette, was the idea of Newhart’s wife, Ginny, who just passed away a year or so ago. If you can find it, there is a great short film called “Bob and Don: A Love Story”, which is about the long friendship between Newhart and Don Rickles, and their wives. Really funny, really heartfelt.
