Default All bars ordered to stop alcohol sales

Looks like phase 2 just got shot in the butt. Fl has just order all bars to stop selling alcohol. That was short lived.

And I'm pointing a finger @ a local watering hole, places like City Fire LSL, shot themselves in both feet.

Had to blow it for $$

I see Texas ordered, but can’t find announcement of Florida. You have link?
Probably will happen though.

I'm heading heading for my "man-cave", I mean "person-cave" to see if I can get a table for 1. Please, don't worry about me, I will/do wear a mask and I have 86 proof oral rinse.

There are no bars in The Villages. City Fire is not a bar, it is a restaurant.

yea, right, what about all those seats surrounding a bartender--its a restaurant whose primary income is from booze--go there @ your own risk if covid doesn't get you, second hand smoke will

Florida DBPR
@FloridaDBPR
Effective immediately, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is suspending on premises consumption of alcohol at bars statewide.

Coronavirus: You can no longer drink alcohol at bars in Florida

Another correction to your post, "on site". They can sell to go if they choose to. Sales are not "banned".

So what does that mean? You buy a drink "to go" and stand outside on the sidewalk drinking it?

What about bars with outdoor seating. Are the customers allowed to sit outside? I haven't been to a bar in what seems like forever so I really don't know how they are enforcing this or why they are singling out bars for these types of restrictions. Not that I want to see these restrictions applied elsewhere.....

The outdoor area kind of sort of looks like a bar to me

Rats! I suppose "on premises consumption" includes outdoor seating too. Waiting for clarification, I guess.

Thousands of restaurants have a bar. That doesn't make them classified as a bar for legal purposes. The percentage of food sales is what determines whether they are classified as a bar or restaurant. The actual bars were not allowed to reopen until phase 2 on June 5. That resulted in a big spike, especially in the younger crowd.
I'm assuming the squares will not open on July 6 since they can't serve alcohol.

I'm confused. If I go out for dinner can I order a glass of chardonnay with my dinner or is that not allowed now because the drink comes from the bar? No Irish coffee for dessert?

Staying trapped inside of my house, looking at the 4 walls closing in on me is not the way that I want to spend my hard earned retirement. We'll be confined to assisted living/nursing homes before we know it, but I'm certainly not going to check myself in there prematurely.

Hoping/praying this Covid-19 stuff ends soon. The sooner the better.

By staying home and being safe, you are in control of your retirement & your health

Staying home is a pussycat when compared to being under water on a ballistic missile submarine from 74 -86 days, how do I know I did it !!

See post differentiating between a bar/nightclub and a restaurant. Restaurants are still serving. Belle Glade cancelled Petrina this evening because of the rise in cases, but they are still serving alcohol and will continue to.
