They aren't wrong. Just because you can breed doesn't mean you should, even the most base creature can do it and it shows.

Yeah we have a licensing requirements for everything except parenting. Do you have to get a license to get married but not having a child?

I use that line whenever someone says they shouldn't have to pay taxes for [insert whatever they don't approve of because it doesn't fit their agenda].

I don't have kids, why should I have to pay taxes for schools?

(the correct answer to that challenge question is: because some day one of those kids will become YOUR president. You have a choice NOW in ensuring that that kid gets the best education your tax dollars can buy.)

I completely agree with you, but whether you personally have kids or not doesn't matter. Education is a minor expense that pays back big time. It is in everyone's best interest to educate all the children.

Sadly, our school system is broken like so many things that used to work.

That is one possibility but studies show education directly relates to odds of becoming a crimminal, lifetime earning potential which relates to payback in taxes, and so much more.

Agree completely with you on education. Even if someone doesn’t have children someone else’s child might grow up to be a scientist who develops a drug that helps everyone live a healthier life. Also agree education system is broken and the US is way behind the world.

Understood.
It becomes a deep deep well about how broken it is and what to do.
I'd be fine with it if they were accountable for the money they already have. Until that time people will always fight it.

My opinion here, they are using the "fear factor" to a degree. Let's just keep the southern border open and let everyone in who could spread the virus, then put them on airplanes and bus them to different cities and states. No one can tell me that is not playing into this equation.

Yes that's "fear factor" being spread by propagandists with an anti-immigrant agenda. They want you to be terrified that immigrants will make you die, and take your jobs, and rape your women.

It's so much easier for them, than it is for them to admit that Americans, in general, have failed to protect our own and are spreading the virus just fine by ourselves without the help of the current batches of border-hoppers.

But, whatever, hopefully, the significant surge will motivate some that maybe they should get vaccinated and stop with all the excuses.
Oh yes.
The new variant is almost as contagious as...... wait for it...... THE COMMON COLD.
About as contagious as .......wait for it...... MASS HYSTERIA

The only thing I agree with you is that more need to get vaccinated.

There are approximately 10-11 Million Florida residents who have NOT been vaccinated. You can say tourists or staying indoors excaberates the problem, but the fact is, if these millions of residents got vaccinated, we wouldn't be "number one".
