This is just my opinion. In my experience it seems that most folks like to broaden their horizons. They like to experience new foods, cultures, sights, sounds, etc. But, there are some that are uncomfortable or even afraid to leave their comfort zone, and I feel sorry for those people. I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit in my life, seen quite a bit of the world and everywhere I have been I have found people to be generally friendly. I don't think our problems are as much about race, but about ideology and education (or lack of education). While travelling around the US, I have met nice folks who have never been out of their state or, in some cases, even their county, yet they will proudly proclaim the US is the best country in the world. While I agree with them, I ask myself "how can they be so certain". Like a child that hates spinach, but has never tasted it.
Your post mentions BLM. There are many groups that have many agendas and often the expressed agenda is not the true agenda. Hate groups use"the race card" because they know it is a very effective and decisive tool. However, if we are going to advance peacefully and positively into a better world, the truly sincere leaders of our communities must find common ground and expose the hate groups for what they truly are.

Yeah. When the OK city bombing happened, some of questions that came to mind were never answered. Many of these troublemakers seem to be of the same ilk. How do they get money to “invest?” My family has always struggled to pay our bills and our youthful time was consumed with getting education, working, paying taxes, raising kids, etc. But the haters have seem to have unlimited time, money and energy to invest. There are obvious inconsistencies since they show up in pre-printed tshirts with their group’s messaging, have professionally printed signs and brochures, have coordinated where & when to be, and have paid travel costs & many times they have taken group transportation to get there. If they are there long enough, they must eat, use the bathroom, and sleep.

As yourself this: if YOU wanted to do what they are doing, what would that take? How would you do it? Could you do it alone? Would you do that for FREE?

I think something more is enabling them & our authorities should address that to put an abrupt halt to future problems. Shut down their benefactor.

I think it is helpful to remind people that commercial brands are a reflection of the history of a culture, but regularly evolve with the market. Companies may be voicing concern about racial justice this past week, but the bottom line (pun intended) is that they will be targeted and lose market share if those brands remain out of tune with the sensibilities of their market.

Rudolf was apparently tagged a long time ago since many years ago my child’s public school told the kindergarten’s room mothers we could not decorate reindeer cookies red M & Ms as noses but any other color would be fine. They explained that red would look too Christian, like Rudolf. I laughed hysterically at that & told them Rudolf is just about as Christian as the Easter Bunny is. They stood firm in their decision but also went on to teach the Dreidel game, the Kwanza Song and several other things because they wanted to be “inclusionary.” I didn’t mind the other cultures & religions being introduced but I did mind that only the mainstream cultural traditions & the Christian religion were excluded.

In these cases, the prices will rise because of rising costs caused by rebranding and demand will fall because of the loss of customer loyalty which will predictably lead to product, if not corporate, failure.
