I think the cancel culture, gender pronouns, and such are nothing more than a generation that can't cope with life. Spoiled and entitled, their parents are the ones to blame for all this nonsense. History is history, embrace it as that history is what made this country what it is today, erase it and you are telling me you have zero respect for everything within our borders no matter what it is.

While all this can easily be stopped, Americans as a whole say a lot but don't back it up - note the last 2 elections..... embarassing
People may call today's generation spoiled and entitled, but the reality is that I feel sorry for today's generation. Something like 50% of them has serious mental problems. Some 20% have contemplated suicide. They are NOT running around as happy campers. When they go to school they might get shot at school or on a bus to school or walking to school. There are drug dealers to avoid. We never had those kinds of problems.
.......I SERIOUSLY feel SORROW for today's GEN Z. And I think that our older generation should read about and imagine themselves in a GEN Z body..........they have BIG problems.

What defines us as the most successful retirement community? I’ve never heard that accolade given. I’ve heard largest retirement community and largest developed metro area. Who named us successful and why?

Sounds like you are proposing a clan of people in The Villages who continue making minorities uncomfortable for the foreseeable future. I feel like we have been there and done that many times. Heck we even fought a war for that reason. Sometimes history teaches us nothing though and we repeat our mistakes.

Wife and I grew up in London during WW2 with bombs and rockets falling, food shortages, rationing, and freezing cold because there was nothing left to burn.
My heart bleeds for GEN Z, and all their perceived problems with what gender they are, and where they can buy their drugs.
You play the hand you are dealt, or fold.
Get real.

Ironic. To label the team with a derogatory adjective and persist using that name, implies openly bullying anyone who doesn’t agree with those views.

Ah the old days when we all could be open racists. Sickening.

History is history, right or wrong it happened and you can’t change it. A current pet peeve is calling a master bedroom a primary bedroom because master reminds people of slaves. Yes slavery was wrong but it has nothing to do with a master bedroom. What is next, changing the name of The Masters golf tournament, is there no end? My wife and I have always been in acceptance of all people as we are all part of the human race and that is what counts.
Amen! We need more opinions like this to squelch out the over abundant racist views on Talk of The Villages.

Well that would be confusing to your friends.

Was that a humble opinion? Sounded the opposite of humble. Spoiled, entitled. I didn’t hear humble words. Regardless, It also sounds like you do not stand by your own words and want to erase the current history. The old history is written. You may not like the current history, and may want to stick to your degrading dictionary, but gender pronouns and cancel culture are history: todays history. Ignorance is blind.

I refuse to give in to the PC and WOKE crowd. I say what I want to say and speak my mind. As for the gender/pronoun issue, it doesn't exist for me. Male is male and female is female. If you are one and want to be the other then just don't be in my face about it.
The current PC culture no longer wants us to accept the LBGTQrstuv people, the want us to worship them.
I'm proud to be anti-PC and will be that way till my last breath.
You mean that other people would like the focus to go away from white privileged males to anyone else? God forbid!

Can you imaging having to ask those sort of questions all day?
Worlds going mad.
It’s not clear why you think asking that question is hard. It’s no harder than asking what’s your birthdate or address. It’s only hard if it’s met with difficult remarks from judgemental people.

This is what’s wrong with the world! If it bothers you, fine, but I don’t want to hear it and don’t care. Do what you want and don’t force it down my throat.

They probably haven’t read the talk of the villages posts. Otherwise, they would know that a bunch of full-timers openly judge and dislike them, forgetting that snowbirds pay their taxes and amenity fees.

To me, having been in Florida since 1964, "snowbird" was a common term applied to anyone who came south for the winter to escape the cold. It was not derogatory or ill-meaning. However, "yankee" and "northerner" were terms almost always used while driving - and they meant "someone from up north who didn't drive the way we drive" (right or wrong). I don't think snowbird is a bad term, just a descriptive term. Maybe change it to "winter-challenged folk"?
I’ve been visiting, renting or living here for 19 years. It wasn’t derogatory until forums like this gave bullies an anonymous voice.
