I agree. Why publish a number and let everyone get a busy signal? Use an answering machine that provides information and offers to call you back. Ridiculous.

Although I'm anxious to receive it, I'm not going drive to another county to receive it or wait hours or days as some are doing at the no appt. spots. It will get here eventually and I'd rather wait until I'm sure of getting both doses. I'm figuring a realistic time frame is Feb./March.

Yes, the distribution is NOT going well at this point in time. None other than Bill Gate predicted/warned about this months ago. I know that over 50% of TV Land do NOT have a good opinion of Gates, not sure WHY? I can't wait for my re-education on this subject.

No one stealing anyone else’s dose. When the vaccine is available to people it’s their choice to opt in or out.

Try Windows 10 for a reason

What are the common problems with Windows 10?
Troubleshooting the Most Common Windows 10 Problems (2019 Guide) 1. Computer won’t turn on 2. Keyboard or mouse doesn’t work 3. Not enough disk space 4. Removing a defective Windows Update 5. Facing multiple Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) 6. When a DLL File is missing 7. Unwanted extensions and pop-ups on your browser etc. etc.

And now there is finger pointing in Washington about why the roll out is not going as planned....20,000,000 vaccinated by years end....only "...several million vaccinated...".

And now, new arm waving about the weeks/months/years it will take.

It sounds like the media and the politicians are working too hard to reduce expectations to make it easier to meet expectations.

No intention to sound like political rhetoric....just what has been said about availability and lowering expectations.

1. Gates left Microsoft operations in 2008.
2. Windows 10 wasn't released for the public until 2015, 7 years later.
3. Most common problems with Windows 10 result from trying to upgrade from a legacy computer with legacy peripherals that can't handle the current version of Windows 10. Those problems are eliminated if you buy a machine that has Win10 installed at the manufacturer.

So if that's why you hate Gates, your hatred is bizarre, completely unfounded, and childish.

Let me make sure I understand this. You are conflating Windows 10, which Gates had nothing to do with, and the philanthropic activities of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation? Really?

Yes, the rollout has been politicized.

He argued that by the end of January there should be fifty million doses available. That is enough to vaccinate all hospital and nursing home staff and patients as well as everyone in the country over sixty five. This would have the biggest impact in lowering the number of deaths from this virus and taking pressure off the hospitals. Once this is accomplished then you start vaccinating the rest of the population from oldest to youngest. This made a lot of sense to me. It seems to me that all the states are doing their own thing and there really is not one specific plan for distribution which makes no sense to me at all.
Politics! Each state can do their own thing so...

MA is vaccinating prisoners before high risk. Something like 11 deaths out of 2,000 cases vs 7,800 deaths out of 28,000 cases.

Default Florida Department of Health Answer For Snowbirds

I received a reply from the Florida Department of Health this morning to this question:

“Yes. Once the COVID-19 vaccine is widely available, non-residents and part-time residents will be eligible to receive the vaccine in Florida. Currently COVID-19 vaccines are strictly limited to certain groups.”

Each can interpret for themselves but the inclusion of “widely available” suggests that I, as a non-resident snowbird and Florida property owner, will have to wait until the vaccine is available to the general public. Guess I may have to return to Ohio if I want to receive the vaccine in the 65+ age group.

From a hospital up north, paraphrasing from a senior high level meeting: "we need to find socially distanced facilities which can handle the numbers and the observation times required. These locations will not be doctor's offices, as the facilities aren't equipped to handle this process."

So, they are making preparations for clinics specially set up for vaccine storage, social distancing, and observational requirements, as well as being prepared for reactions. The expected time frame for general vaccination is early February. So please put on your operational execution hats, and realize that there is alot more to distribution than just a sign up list, and vaccine shipments.

And all states public health systems are in charge of distribution in every state. So just remember that when you are voting for all elected official positions: at some point, it can't be all about me, but about the entire state and the entire population. . . and the size of the population to be managed even in today's world, is a significant operational execution.. . .

we are closer to the end than at the beginning, but the end may seem farther away without patience as humans are involved in all aspects of the operation

Sumter County residents can call (352) 569-3102 starting Jan. 4 to schedule an appointment.

Before signing up, residents must review the pre-vaccination checklist link provided by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-1...ening-form.pdf.
