Ashamed to see fake news haters so upset on nothing and making a stink over nothing. If ur beloved leader can do it no matter what the reason then what’s good for the gander is good from the goose.

Promoting inclusion by exclusion is wrong.

Your comment explicitly demonstrates how uncomfortable white people are when they are confronted with the fact that we live in a White supremacist society which explicitly benefits white people. When the roles are reversed, it results in the same outrage people of color have lived with for centuries. Instead of being outraged I would suggest that you step back and examine the cause of your outrage to better understand racism.
Exactly. Those who are "offended" now, where have they been while the shoe's been firmly planted on the other foot since before this country was even founded, and continuing to today?

If it's offensive, well all I can say to you is "welcome to the club. Get used to it." If you can't handle that, then work to change it. MAKE things equal between the races. I doubt any of you have what it takes to do that. If you did, it would've been done already. Either that or it was acceptable until it affected your color/nationality.

Imagine being the reporter whose "beat" is Chicago politics? There goes your way of life simply because you're caucasian.
Of course I have to ask that what if this was done by any other white mayor? What if Bill De Blasio, mayor of New York city or Gil Garcetti, mayor of L.A. proclaimed that they won't be interviewed if your a person of color? Oh my God! There would be mass coverage, people calling for their resignation or firing, protests in the streets! But no, it's a black person racially discriminating against a white, that seems to be ok and we just have to sit back and take it.
What bothers me more than this act is that no one seems to care? No major news coverage across the board? A couple of days a few outlets ran with it but with no great urgency to get to the bottom of it?
Maybe the "bottom of it" is that we as white people should just take it and get use to it?
We seem to be doing a stellar job at it so far.

Where was the outrage when Desantis only allowed Fox News into a bill signing? Where was the outrage when Trump only did interviews with Fox, Brightbart and OAN?

Chicago has become a war zone with people, including children, being gunned down on the streets. Anything, anything at all, to distract from that terrible fact.

I did read a variety of news sources, however, once I saw this thread. The woman mayor was trying to promote reporters of color, since there were virtually no black reporters in Chicago. It wasn't the press conferences she was referring to, it was only the one on one interviews, that EVERY politician chooses to do on one to ones. I'm surprised this thread is still up.
Whose fault is it that there are "virtually no black reporters in Chicago"? Could it be that no one wants to be a "black reporter in Chicago"? There are scholarships and financial aid for anyone who's qualified (grade-wise) to go to college and major in broadcasting and/or journalism and become a "black reporter in Chicago". Why does this kind of thing always have to be a racial issue? People of any color/race who want to succeed can do so with determination. If Lightfoot really wanted to help black citizens, she would be finding ways to encourage black youth to develop goals and finding ways to help them achieve those goals. Her time would be better spent being constructive rather than destructive.

Why is anyone surprised by the Chicago mayor’s actions. No one was shocked that she the mayor closed most business in the city during the Covid scare but thought it was completely within her rights to get her hair done without a mask and behind closed doors.
I just came back from Chicago and went to my grandchildren’s soccer games while they participated while wearing masks during play.

Therefore she should be ignored as irrelevant and not promoted in any way or form.

Could it be that black reporters in Chicago suck. You can't give people jobs based on their skin color.

How many times have you seen the current President on Fox News after many invites to attend their station?

Yeah, but he didn't do it by race. He did it by bias and idiocy. She is a racist and she just announced it for all to know.
