The newer designs painted to match the woodwork blend in very nicely and remove the eye sore clutter of wires laying around.

they can be an acceptable option in many applications.

Interesting theory, but the slab is only 4" thick except at the edges.

Default Not so funny story

Built a new home in Sarasota in 2000, with a great room living area.

Felt it needed a couple of floor plugs.

Did walk-thru of already built model, carefully measured twice, then grabbed the plans and made 2 modifications on the plans:

1) Turned the 2 door slider into a 3 door pocketing slider (had to enlarge the opening in the block)

2) Added the floor outlet onto the plans, carefully measuring from the new wall line!

Only problem was the builder installed the floor outlet in the concrete measured from the original slider wall....only off by @ 3 feet...not much but a world of difference...middle of the walkway!!!

Uggh!!!
