I am moving to TV, have a boat and RV/5th wheel, and I like to maintain and repair both toys. I will be storing them at a storage yard, but to maintain and repair them, my preference is to bring one or the other to my house. Is there a village that tolerates RVs and boats for a day or two at time, or perhaps a storage yard that accommodates DIY maintenance and repair on boats and RVs?

In the Villages, No, your deed will say No specifically to your question. The second part of your question I do not know. It sounds like you have not done an extended stay at the Villages so that might be the first step in your Journey to the Villages and adjust your lifestyle accordingly.

Should have 72 hours but check your deed restrictions. I would try and hide if you're working on them if you can. Looking for a bass boat right now for myself and small enough to get in the garage. I hate off-site parking.

Remember there are different deed requirements per Village. You should look up the deed restrictions for each Village you want.

It might depend on your neighbors, too. Our neighbors across the street had a 5th wheel that they would bring from storage and park across their driveway for a couple of days before they went off in it. They were nice people whom everyone liked, and we didn't care if they took up some road space for a couple days here and there.

We have a couple neighbors that occasionally bring their RV’s and work on them in their driveway before/after a road trip when they aren’t in long term storage. It’s absolutely no problem unless they stick out into the road and block traffic. In our district, they can keep them in their driveway for three consecutive days. I can’t speak for other CDD’s as I have only read the deed restrictions in our district. I’d gladly take a whole street of RV owners over a neighbor running an AIR BnB turnstile business out of their home.

The 72 hours for loading and unload in most districts and no 3/4 ton truck or larger either? Check district you plan on moving into. In harmeswood of belle aire and you can park them on your property they are allowed.

We live in Summerhill, we park our small camper trailer in our driveway before we leave and after for about 3 or 4 days. No problem. Guess it depends how nice your neighbors. We are lucky, we have great ones.

You can rent a covered space for a reasonable price at Coverall Storage in Oxford. Each covered spot has 50 amp electric hook-ups. The facility also has a very nice dump station and washing area. You are allowed to do maintenance there, too. With the fifth wheel plugged in and under cover, you will have a nice place to do your maintenance. One of the large pull-throughs will have room for the boat once you remove the truck. I did it for years. There are similar places in the southern area of The Villages. Act now in the off-season as there is more availability.
