Default Stuck Garage Door-Newly Painted Driveway?

Our neighbors had their driveway painted recently. The door was left up slightly for 5 days then closed. Upon the first attempt to open the garage door I noticed it was stuck while the motor continued to run. I immediately hit the stop button.

There may be several suggestive comments but this is an EZ sure fix while others are temporary. Place a small amount of sand along the area where the door seal meets the concrete. It will release with ease afterwards.

We solved that problem by purchasing a long vinyl type adhesive strip, about 4 inches wide, that we affixed to the driveway where the door comes down. Can't remember what hardware store we got it in, but we got white. Comes in a few colors, but white worked for us. Now we have no problem. The heat, the rubber of the door gasket, the paint, not a good combination. We waited the required # of days, even bought a new garage door bottom seal, still in the heat, it stuck - so that little strip was purchased, installed and it really works.

Wink

When Jay painted our driveway he installed 4 foot lengths of vinal baseboard under the door. It is the type used in office buildings and is layed flat under the door.
