Default Wall to wall carpet without damaging tile

Lets say you have some rooms that you want carpet to be installed in, but afraid of the "tack strip" that has to be nailed down damaging tile.
There is another alternative:

You can request your installer to glue down 6inch(smaller) tack strip along the walls with elmer's white glue, it also comes in gallon containers, installer pours stream of glue out of container,(leaves cap on but he cuts small notch in) so you have a small stream coming out approx 3/4 of an inch off the walls with the guy behind him dropping the strip in.
We used to do this method on large commercial jobs over concrete, it takes approx. 1 1/2 days to set up to begin stretching, cannot be disturbed by animals etc. Will hold like epoxy when set up and does not damage your tile. Strip in the future can easily be scrapped off and with the use of some water will disolve glue.
