Default Mira Mesa

I don’t like these negative reviews but I have to tell it like it is !

Mira Mesa is in horrific condition ! 😱 We got a good chuckle because one of the guys asked the starter about the course conditions and he stated that it was in good shape ! 🤣🤣🤣

The best part of the course condition wise was the fairway on the par 4 (#7)

No further comment is necessary as I’ll let the images speak for themselves.

Course rating is at best a C but probably closer to a D …..

Such a shame. Great course when in at least fair condition.

Yes, I remember when they reopened after the complete renovation. The course was in pristine condition.

What a shame ….😢

Bummer, one of our go to courses. No good excuses for those conditions on a recently renovated course.

Can’t argue the pictures. Not in great shape. I have hopes it will be turned around quick

Don’t sweat posting a bad review. We’ve read enough of your reviews to know your credibility. Keep them coming!

Apparently the new Director of Executive Golf Maintenance isn't much better than the last one? That's what happens when you ignore the qualifications you post for the position and hire someone who doesn't meet those qualifications ... but he's cheap to hire.

Is this based on any real information or is it just wishful thinking??

Mira Mesa closes 9/16 until further notice for cart-path repairs. Perhaps the downtime and recent rains will also give the course a chance to recuperate.

I’m not an agronomist, but I think a big part of the problem is lack of sunlight and air circulation, which is why you see those big fans at some golf courses, especially if the greens are surrounded by trees. Part of the beauty of the course seems to be part of the problem. The 8th hole usually is pretty lush: It’s wide open and gets plenty of sun and air circulation. I don’t know if there’s a good solution, but I see them pouring water on the greens, sanding them and treating them. When they get things in decent shape, they go out and do something else, and within a week or two the problems return. You can’t cut down the trees, so it has to be frustrating. Bermuda grass just won’t grow in the shade.

The above is surely one of the challenges in TV. I hear people complaining about "no shade" on some of the Exec courses, yet shade is the enemy of Bermuda grasses. Some cultivars do better than others, but Bermuda needs a load of sunshine and as you point out, air circulation.

If trees can't be removed, some serious pruning might be in order.

Have you met the new director? Most of the executives are in the best shape I have seen them in my 4 years here. I have seen your negative posts about executive courses and bashing the directors. Go meet with him. One of my golfing partners met him last year and was very pleased with him and his solutions to his issues.
