Default Tarpon Boil

We played Tarpon Boil on Thursday.

The course is in very good shape . My only criticism is that they are waiting way too long to move the location of the tees within the tee boxes.

The result is that the turf gets beat to hell almost beyond the point of repair before the markers are moved to a different location within the tee box.

The greens were in very good condition. Here comes a BIG BUT ……. But, there was one player during previous tee times that did not know how to pick up their feet when walking!

EVERY GREEN had drag marks leading to the hole …..🤬🤬🤬

Trust me when I tell you that if that was someone in our foursome, I would have said something immediately !

Aside from these issues , the course deserves an A

We have played Tarpon Boil several time recently. Many times the greens have been chewed up by one or more players around the hole. It was so bad the last time, i stopped after play and showed the starter our spikeless shoes, assuring him we weren`t the ones causing the damage. He didn`t have much to say.

Giving the fact there are some older golfers here that can't pick up their feet very well you'll see it here in the villages. It is frustrating.

In response to your comments about Tee Boxes ... NO ONE fixes their divots in The Villages (maybe a very small percentage). If more people "used" their sand bottles it would tremendously help with the care and maintenance of the Tee Boxes.

I can’t agree more with you and with the other comments as well.

Whenever we get a “stray” joining our group due to an open tee time, I make it a point to “suggest” they repair their divots if the take one.

A simple comment such as , “Do you need some sand ? I have some if you need it “ usually does the trick .

Sadly, I’ve come across some players that have been here in The Villages for some time that don’t even carry a sand bottle ! 😱

I’m on those guys like you wouldn’t believe even though I don’t know them !
