BF..No nod to Elsa, but, 'LET IT GO'!!! I had my gal color with ash blonde and two cuts later, I was $150 heavier in my pockets and happy as a worm in an apple. Allowing it to be 'cut-in' really made it easier.
Honestly, BF, JUST OWN IT! You know you are an own-it kinda gal. Gonna be smashing and one-of-a-kind. You can't improve on perfection; Nomesayin? |

If I may - I would suggest you search through the Rec News every week and go through the clubs to see if there is anything of interest for either one of you. I do not have a list, but there is a full list of clubs here that I am sure one of the ladies on this board could give you. Also, you might find something in the catalog put out by The Villages Lifelong Learning College, you could pick one up at the regional rec centers. What about volunteering? The Sun has several pages of volunteer opportunities every week. I have no idea what your professions were, but you might be of great use to one of the local schools. You are probably used to a very structured life and you may just need to find something to kill some time in your day until you learn how to live in TV. I wish you well - I went through something very similar when my other half was transferred overseas for several years and I had to leave a job I loved, family, friends and a neighborhood where everyone knew me. It is not easy.

I am now owning my "salt and pepper" hair, but I find I need new clothes.
I haven't heard anyone else mention this, maybe it's my imagination. I find my vibrant red and orange duds no longer work for me. I guess I need softer colors. Sigh.

Good morning, Girl Talk,
I have been watching The Crown on Netflix. It is wonderful -- well......maybe not Downton Abbey wonderful, but, hey, what is. John Lithgow plays Churchill. He is one of my favorite actors. Every now and then, I just have to watch a few episodes of 3rd Rock from the Sun because I think he is hilarious in that role. His Churchill, of course, is not hilarious. But fascinating. He is not as old as he looks as Churchill. Good transformation. Lithgow is an amazing actor. What a range. Last edited by Boomer; 12-03-2016 at 12:21 PM. |

Elizabeth was so young at her coronation. The first season of The Crown ends in the mid 1950s so there is (obviously) still much to tell. The life of her uncle after he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson is there, along with the backstory of Princess Margaret and Peter Townsend. I never knew about the impossible situation her sister's great love affair put Queen Elizabeth in. -- 'twas a big, sad mess. I guess it's not easy being Queen. |

Has anyone ever used an at-home laser hair removal system?
Please PM me if you don't want to reply online. Some of the laser systems on Amazon have very favorable ratings. Still, I find it's a scary idea to use laser beams at home. That's probably an old fashioned idea though, like being afraid of microwaves and cell phones.

Luv it, Frau, And it's OK, LLW, I think you're kidding......I think. History Lesson: Barefoot started this thread long ago when TOTV was a whole lot more fun. I was among the pioneer women here in "Girl Talk" and believe you me, this ol' Boomer gets the irony of the name and luvs it, too. We are a confident bunch and perfectly comfortable with irony. It's been a long time, huh, Girls. Thank you, Barefoot. (btw, my hair is still not gray) Boomer Last edited by Boomer; 12-15-2016 at 08:00 AM. |

Last night I watched Florence Foster Jenkins starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. Simon Helberg, better known as Howard Wolowitz in Big Bang Theory, has a big role and is quite good -- holds his own alongside those two big movie stars.
It's an interesting movie, based on a true story. A sadly sweet movie. A sweetly sad movie. I did not think I was going to like the movie much but I did. A lot. |

By the way, I keep seeing on other threads that you're considering selling. Please tell me you're not leaving The Villages.
