Bare,

You are an incredible friend to offer your support for the day. I can only imagine the thoughts that must have gone thru your head as you sat there empathyzing with all the patients.

Thankyou for sharing your day with us, mabe we can stop picking at the small insignificant aggrevations and realize what a gift each and every day is. Suddenly faded pool chairs just dont seem very important do they.

You are a blessing in my life and you without a doubt tipify the meaning of a true friend.

HB, I think it's quite an honor to be chosen as you were. Sounds to me that you must be very perceptive as well as a problem solver, and the company recognized that in you.
Congratulations.

Bare, I am so sorry that you had to go through that. You are a good friend, and I'm sure he appreciates the time you spend with him. I spent many days watching Jim being infused at Johns Hopkins, and I agree with you. I was amazed at the folks we met there. They seemed somehow to be so peaceful, and were definitely and inspiration to me. I do count my blessings every day, and I have many of them.

Bare, I agree that seeing the bravery of terminal patients IS such an inspiration.
Makes all our little woes seem so insignificant.
I remember when my stepmother, that I was very close to, died at age 33 of lung cancer.
What a horrible last year for her with all those awful treatments...
But she was always smiling, we shopped, we lunched and we laughed alot.
She was very courageous.... And what good memories we made...

Dear Bare,

I applaud you. What you did not every person can do.

The human spirit is truly amazing. I do not know if I would be smiling, laughing and joking around if I was receiving any kind of treatment for cancer.

You have given of yourself in one of the finest ways one human being can give to another. I can only guess the comfort, support and love your friend felt from you.

I am so glad we are friends.

The one good thing I am doing for myself today is to return to the hospital for my chemo sessions once a month for the next three months.

Those stricken with a terminal disease are prone to take the high road and work at keeping positive thoughts. The mind is powerful and can make it or break it.

I call my chemo sessions, "a day at the spa."

Bare, you are a good friend with a good heart, bless you.

Hugs, barb

PS: Yesterday I saw the movie "Bucket List" which is a winner for sure. It left me with tears of joy; a very uplifting story when one can mesh together such sadness along with much joy.

Barb, I wish I could be there with you to keep you and Bill company, but you know that my heart is right on your chest. Just think of good things and remember we love you (especially me) and I will always be praying for you guys...

Bare, that was a wonderful thing you did. I remember in 1983 when my Mom was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer at age 63, and we would sit in the hospital room day in and day out and no one would come to visit because of their fears. Its was very sad for Mom as some of her special friends wouldn't show up. I will never forget her feeling of loneliness and desperation that her friends weren't there to say goodbye. Dad, brother and I were all alone with her and it was extremely difficult. Thanks for being who you are and having strength, I know it wasn't easy. Bless you and thanks, I'm glad your my friend!!

Thanks Chels, Nonie, Blondie, Kat, Mint, and HB for your supportive comments, and for sharing personal stories. I am in awe of how brave people can be in the face of adversity. I feel my soul is enriched if I can help out in some small way. I especially admire the doctors and nurses who work every day with the terminally ill. They are indeed angels.

Barb, good luck with your Chemo. You have a great spirit and a wonderful mate in Bill.

Benj, thanks for you beautiful PM. I am looking forward to being your friend when we both are in The Bubble.

Barb,

I will surely put you in my prayers, and send positive thoughts your way. I have two very special folks up in heaven, my husband and my son, and I will ask them for special prayers for you as well (they have extra pull).

Oh my..... Thank y'all so very much for your prayers and well wishes. Sure gave me warm fuzzies!

My "Day at the spa" today was so encouraging and no hurts or boo boo's. Vitals were taken, a chest x-ray, visit with my oncologist, and finally the chemo. Everything seems to be working ok; need to get a few lymph nodes cleared from the big "C". The staff is so warm, caring and extremely knowledgable in their field of expertise.

Again, thank you, my friends, how fortunate am I with your support! So appreciated.

Hugs, barb xoxox
