And if they're staying too long and you want them to leave, take them for a quick nine on Caroline. lol

What's wrong with Caroline?

Nothing, but it’s the longest 9 in the Villages from the Whites, so short hitters are not a fan. The par 5 fifth hole is one of the best holes in the Villages. I believe the front 9 at Tierra, Fox Run at Glenview, and Ft. Walton at Bonifay are the next three longest 9’s.

I didn't look it up, but I thought TDS was longer.

The 5th hole on Caroline, is one of the poorest designed holes in TV, in my opinion. It's likely to go away, when the renovation is done. Look for that hole to be redesigned into a Par 4 and the Tees on #6 moved back, to make that a Par 5.

I actually like #5.
I have never laid-up.
One time my ball got moist.
#7, is a tuffy..................but I'm thankful for the challenge in TV.

7 is one of the hardest holes I've played in TV.

In my opinion, people play #5 wrong. The hole is deceptive. The 2nd shot is a reasonable shot, if you aim it right ... toward the bridge. It's only about 120 from the fairway, near the end of the bridge.

I believe it is the highest 9 hole rated slope/rating in TV. Maybe it's just me, but 5 & 7 have ruined more than one of my rounds there.

Always.

What makes it even more unusual, is when that course was built, I was told they didn't install any drainage.

For my money, it's by far the best layout in TV and the course I play the most.

Shhhh, it’s my home course and I don’t want it to get too crowded. Next thing ya know it will be slotted into the Palmer greens fee pricing category : (

No worries. It's too tough for most TV golfers. You have to hit it straight at TDS.

I would think you might try Southern Oaks/Shallow Creek from Well Point first. Your guest might not want to drive a golf cart 1 hour each way... While SO/SC may not be as pretty as the ones up north, but they are in great shape and probably easier and they might not be that good of golfers.

Almost all are great choices. There is also nice courses outside the villages. Harbor Hills is a beautiful course. Also less expensive than TV.

Hopefully they will also find out about all the other great things available to them here as well besides golf.

I like both of these courses. They are new and have few trees, so they are significantly less challenging that some of the older courses.

Thank you to everyone that provided recommendations and comments. I am leaning towards these three choices based on distance (it is a consideration even though I stated it wasn't because I didn't want to limit options) and scenery.

Belle Glade (Calusa/Tequesta)
Evans Prairie (Egret/Killdeer)
Palmer (Laurel Valley/Riley Grove

I was concerned that TDS could be too challenging and too far away. I know Palmer is about as far as TDS, but my assumption is that Palmer is a "gem" of Villages golf courses.

Thanks again!
