Default Driving Range Distance Markers

Bought my wife some new golf clubs and we are having trouble mapping out the club distances for her. The driving ranges here in TV are not that friendly with the distances, seems they all start in the 100 or more yds range. Does anyone know if any of the off property driving ranges have signs for yardage starting at maybe 50yds and going up from there?

(I think) Glenview depending where the tees are?

Maybe a good first step is get her clubbing off of you?

Years ago when my wife was starting I used to go with her. Back then I practiced alot and could hit a ball within a few yards distance-wise of what I wanted inside of 100 yards (oh I miss that). I would practice hitting 50 yard shots and she would try to go to same spot, then we move to a new spot for 40 or 60 and so on.

My own thought, I am always suspect of range yardage markers.

Default Driving Ranges Balls

Driving range balls do not typically travel the same distance that "better" balls do when you strike them well. Driving ranges will often understate the flag distances to allow for this. Just another factor to play with the mental process. Oh, but isn't it a grand game?

Thanks for the answers. We will try the range at Buffalo Ridge to see if they have the markers I want to try. Someone had told me that range balls have about 80% so we will compensate from there. Probably also try using the distance marker on my GPS to help her get used to her new club distances.

Ditto to the Oxford golf center on RT 301. All grass, lots of targets.
