Default Deep Question

It is said that you should hit the longest driver you can, which hits the center of the club face more often than not. Golf is all about shot deviation, and the driver can hurt you the most.

Never believed I swung the same choking down. Could feel that extra length coming out of my left hand. If thoughts on shortening, would do 1/2" at a time.
Get a result before anymore cutting. If you cut too much, plugs are not what you want to play with.

More Centripetal force? Not sure on that one. Only know that the ball needs to be played 1/8th inch inside the club center at address to allocate for centripetal force pulling inward at the bottom of the swing. Otherwise, centripetal force will cause ball to be struck outside sweet spot towards toe when it does pull in. Watch the tour pro's set-up. Ball is always inside the center line to adjust for centripetal action.

In addition in their set-ups, you will see a slight toe up position and a slightly open face. This compensates for shaft flexing with club face closing slightly and flattening slightly. You will see that too if you look for it watching the pros.
Hit a ladies shaft and watch the high left shot, or too stiff a shaft and watch the low right shot. And before you pooh pooh this, watch the pro's. They get it!

Now I am wondering if its even worth shortening the shaft, or if choking down is good enough. I might get a little more centripetal acceleration of the club head if I actually cut the shaft, but I'm not sure.
