Default Hickory Golf

I am moving to The Villages in July. I was wondering if there is any interest in playing golf with pre 1930 Hickory shafted clubs down there. There is a group of hickory golfers in Tampa and a Carololinia group I belong to a Virginia group. We just played a tournament in Pinehurst Knickers and all, it's fun but challenging.
You can check out The society of Hickory golfers or Hickory golf website to see what it's all about.
Be there soon!

What kind of balls do you use? It really be cool to play with featheries or original gutta percha balls.

I don't what it would be like to hit a modern ball with a hickory shafted club.

They make a reproduction mesh ball a lot of people use. I use Pro V1s they are soft any modern ball is accepted in tournament play. They have a group that play pre 1900 clubs that use feathery balls. I got hooked after watching the Greatest Game finding some hickory clubs and seeing how well they player. I also have 2 sets of reproduction clubs that are approved for hickory play 1 set made by Tad Moore in Alabama the other by Mike Just of Louisville Golf in Ky.
