Probably because they too have discovered the joys of golf. Where else can you get a four hour commute with nature in a beautiful surrounding and fresh air. Where else can you get this type of exercise thats fun. Yes its exercise, the golf car is only on 20-25 minutes in a round of golf, so the rest of the time requires moving. And the golf swings are a similar workout, if you watch, to break dancing. (sadly) And the sociability index is huge. Best of all it's cheaper than psychiatry. They obviously have discovered the benefits and joys of golf, priceless.

Folks that will be here for 15-20 years have an opportunity to upgrade that enjoyment with golf lessons. No it's not your next door neighbor, double bogey Bob or even your husband who will improve your game. After two lessons with your husband you will realize he does not know what he is doing either. WARNING- this could lead to tensions....avoid it.

Women have less of an ego than guys who think they can teach themselves. It's like a guy asking for directions, won't happen. Both should seek out professional help so that the majority of years here are spent at a much higher enjoyment level. Priceless.

The Villages has plenty of teaching facilities to pick from. You just have to commit to enjoying the game more. Like any other teaching situation you have to be able to have good communication with the teacher. It's not a perfect world, if the communication is not working, just change teachers. No harm no foul. We try our best but sometimes people just dont click.
And we understand that. It's the same in any subject matter. Just find one who clicks.

I was recently contacted for a home golf swing lesson. Been away from it for a while and it was enjoyable. More to follow. I did have to lower my private country club rate to $125.00 per session if they qualified, because it is the Villages.

But there are so many other learning possibilities and thats what makes the Villages great for golf. There are not many sports where you can get such great exhilaration from playing as golf. WHY? Because good shots are all YOU! Not the team or a weak opponent..just YOU!

So, if you want to maximize your golf enjoyment and not embarrassment, keep on learning.
Find a good mentor to help increase your enjoyment level. And if you are a you tube learner,
just hit the mute button and watch their movements. The words are distracting.

Remember, you hold the key to more golf enjoyment. Don't be afraid to open the door.
