Default Looking to invest in CDs

My husband & I would like to put some of our savings into CDs. We would appreciate some feedback on your experience with different banks and clubs such as AAA and AARP.

Thank you.

Double check what you are paying for the CDs. I recently saw an ad for 8% CDs, but they were selling for well OVER the $100 coupon price, which effectively lowered the rate of return to less than 3%. Also, review the nature of the bond and whether it is taxable, etc., and the financial stability of the entity issuing the bonds.
I use Amerprise to do all of the above, and my advisor has done very well for me, so well that I kept the same one from up North.

Default ccd's

On line banks, like Ally, and your broker can beat the cd rates at the local brick & mortar banks by a few basis points, but not large percentage differences.
