[QUOTE=Aces4;2466961]Per AI: AI Overview
Building a large nuclear power plant can take between 6 and 10 years on average, including construction and commissioning, though this can vary significantly by country and project. To build one operational more quickly, it would likely involve using Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), which could potentially be built in as little as 2 to 4 years using factory-built components.[/QU |

Small reactors are the current rage. Until something goes wrong . Oklo, 10x gainer
Oklo, Inc. engages in the development of fission reactors. It provides clean energy through the design and deployment of fast fission power plants. |

Nuclear power is the true "Green Energy". Sadly, Solar and Wind power generation are not affordable, and improved technology has addressed the following 3 things that made Nuclear Power generation a problem in the past:
1. Safety; 2. Disposition of expended nuclear fuel; 3. Cost. If you truly want clean energy without depending upon fossil fuels, the you should be a proponent of Nuclear Power Generation. |

I'm assuming most of the people on here are over the age of 65. Most of us will probably be almost dead by the time the nuclear facilities are developed and working. I let my financial guy make my decisions for me. He's really good. I spent 6% of my total investment this year on extraordinary expenses. A new car, hunts & travel, not my normal living expenses and I'm exactly at the same dollar amount I started the year with.
I bought 30 ounces of gold for between $300-$340 back in the 80s I think. I sat on it until my divorce in 2000 and sold it for roughly what I paid for it sure wish I would've kept it So I listened to my financial guy!! |

Who is going to pay for these? A lot of the money that coming into the U.S. is for generating power for the data centers. I think the licensing for these power plants will be streamlined. Also there is talk on resurrecting a couple of these old nuclear plants. There are several mothballed plants in Washington state and 3 mile island.

I've seen research lately indicating enhanced geothermal systems will be the answer. Especially in the West, the US sits on a relatively thin portion of the earth's crust. Using fracking technology and closed well loop systems; deep wells are drilled to superheated rock. Water goes in one well, gets super heated going thru the fracking cracks and comes as steam in the second well. Inexpensive and truly 'green'.
