Default Can’t remember the last time I was in a Pharm

All my prescriptions are renewed and ordered by mail. Pharmacies are an archaic business.

We are from a small town in Ohio. Rite-Aid came in and forced out the two local pharmacies years ago. As it was the only option within 25 minutes, we used it. Turns out, it was great - probably because of the local pharmacists. When R-A went out of business last summer, Walgreen’s bought the scripts. I put up with them for a few months because of Walgreen’s being close by down here. In all of the months that I have been with Walgreen’s - both in Ohio and TV - there has never been a month when I have not had problems with refills. I expect Walgreen’s to join Rite-Aid as a has been soon, but I won’t wait that long to transfer my scripts somewhere else.

I will never get my prescriptions from Walgreens. 20 years ago, I was paying $115 a month for a heart drug prescription. Then I found out that Walmart/Sam’s club/Costco carries the same drug with a far cheaper price. I went to my Walmart and I paid $9 for the same drug, and Sam’s club and Costco were even cheaper. Shop around

CVS has done a better job than Walgreens positioning themselves for the future. They acquired AETNA a few years ago. The acquisition was aimed to create a more integrated healthcare system by combining CVS’s pharmacy services and retail health clinics with Aetna’s insurance plans. We’ve used their minute clinics a few times with good success.

Walgreens had a big mail order pharmacy. They sold it to CVS/ Caremark years ago.
