Default What’s with all these old people ?

I don’t consider myself old, some might I don’t. I may have seen a change in the mirror maybe 40 years ago, but I really haven’t changed much since then. Really, I haven’t. When I go into a restaurant I’m constantly amazed how many old people I see around me. But, not me, I’m not old they are. We’re led to the table with the good seats, the ones that don’t hurt my back, I’m happy. They really should fix all those broken seats, especially with all these old people in here. I pick up the menu and feel for my glasses, damn I left them home again. No problem I’ll just order what I had last week. Easy peesy, I liked that dish anyway. My wife always has her glasses. I always forget, no biggy. I’ll be right back I tell my wife, have to hit the head, again. I went before we left the house you see. Always happens when I have too much coffee in the morning. I really need to cut down. When it’s time to leave it takes me a bit to get up from the table when we’re done, my wife no trouble at all. She works out, no problem for her. You see, I use to work out too you know. Yep, I would run 3 miles in the morning before I left for work. Can’t do that now though, it’s my knees. One more pit stop before we leave. I wait outside while she pays the bill. I like to sit on the old people bench and wait. I watch all the old people come into the restaurant. Some come with canes, some in those wheel around things. Boy, I think to myself these people really are old. But not me. I use to bench 10 reps at 300 lbs. I was really built, really in shape. I could get right back to that shape in no time. Yep, they say muscle has memory. It never forgets. When my knees start feeling better again I’ll head back to the gym.

I still cannot tell if Wiotte wrote this or he got it from somewhere else? I like giving credit where it is due. He either wrote it or found it.

Search all you want Tal, I don’t know why you would think I’d plagiarize. These are just my thoughts.

Never said you plagiarized. And it is a light hearted story. Good work. If I quote it I just want to make sure that I get the right author for it. Wiotte from Talk of the Villages.

I should have suggested everyone read this today before they played pickleball as we lost two. One wisely decided to retire after a foot trip, good rolling fall, and then dizziness set in. The other person fell injuring a shoulder and was sent by squad to a hospital. We can and should laugh at ourselves as we age. However, we must remember if we can to adjust our physical activities to reflect what muscle memory we have left to use if any.
