As a boomer, I have to agree that much of the problem is our generation. We chose going out and getting high paying jobs and left education to the rest. Nikita Khrushchev, the Soviet leader said, "We will take America without firing a shot." Khrushchev knew the key was controlling the US was to control what they learned and "knew." The Left was happy to fill the void in the educational system. Khrushchev wasn't the only one to think that way either. Until we reclaim education, we have a problem.

Gen z also gets to see the excesses and wealth of the boomer generation and how they themselves not only can't afford to buy a house but can barely afford an apartment. Wanna buy a new car? $30-40,000. Wanna buy a starter home? $350,000 in most areas of the country. Wanna go to college? $100,000+. Wanna find a job that pays a livable salary? Good luck, even after going to college.Don't get me wrong, many boomers worked hard for what they have but they also had the luxury of growing up in a time of unprecedented economic prosperity and opportunity. If I blame anyone for the mess we're in today it's baby boomers, specifically the 60s generation.
Most Boomer's kids are in their 30's, 40's and 50's, not the demographic that has Gen Z as children. That would be Gen X...

I was born in '57 (close to the middle of the Boomer era). My kids are 39, 35 and 30...

Gen Z compares themselves to the Boomers, not say, past generations. Therefore, they feel sorry for themselves. Most Boomers have worked hard to get where they are today and they look back at the Great Depression, the World Wars their parents, or grandparents faced, they compare their own situation, and feel contented. Gen Z looks back at the contented Boomer generation and they feel sorry for themselves.

My aristocratic parents came here as political refugees, with literally $5 in their pockets and a young daughter (me) and no English. And they were happy, and grateful because they escaped the devastation Communism brought, and this dear place gave them a chance. Dad, who had a classical education, and no practical skills, worked in 3 different labor jobs at a time to “put food on the table”. My mother, who had been taught never to enter a kitchen because she would get “kitchen smell” on her clothes, learned to run a rooming house. And they both motivated me to study; Bible College, teaching, engineering etc so that I too could make my way… anywhere if necessary.

Gen Z, watch where you’re looking. It is all relative. If you look up, you feel down. But if you look down, you feel up.

What are you talking about? It take 1.5 minutes for a copy machine to warm up and then make 50 copies. /s

And then they complained about how the use of photocopiers affects climate change.
