Default It's confession time about the Shamwow

It time to fess up, folks.

Who here has bought the Shamwow?

You know, the guy on TV hawking the German-made Shamwow.
Those Germans make good stuff, you know, he says.

Buy it in the next ten minutes and we'll double your order.
"We can't do this all day," he said.

I love this guy. I stop whatever I'm doing and watch him.
A thousand times. And I laugh every time.

Well, we went in to one of the chick-type stores the other day,
where they sell all that foo foo stuff, and right there as
I entered was a pile of Shamwows.

I scooped them immediately. We left with Shamwows.

Just because I love watching the Shamwow Guy, 43-year-old Vince Offer.

I might not care for his coarse stage act, but he owns me
on the Shamwow. It was better than Mamma Mia.

Who else? Fess up.

I confess,

bought mine on Ebay, but it was because of the ad.

BTW, he does a nice job on a veggie chopper, too.

Already had one just like it from Pampered Chef, so he doesn't get me on that one. Good ad, though.

Way better than that Oxy Clean guy yelling at me. I hate to be yelled at.

I saw them in Bed, Bath and Beyond last week. The girl there told me they get all of the "As Seen on TV" items cheaper than on tv.

I do like the commercial though. Can't help but think the guy has no pride!

Well I am CONFESSING!! Although we did not buy it from the tv commercial 800 number....but we bought one....one for the kitchen, one for each car and one for the golf cart...PLUS one for replacing the ones we bought if they are being washed.

GOD BLESS AMERICA....this may be more effective than the stimulis plan!!

We don't usually fall for this stuff....but he is a good sales person....

I wonder if it might work on the TILE and GRANITE????

A neighbor bought some two weeks ago at the Marion Flea Market from a kitchen vendor for $1/each and gave me a few. They are wonderful. She said they have them for washing windows also. I gotta check those out soon!!

A friend of mine bought a case of a hundred at that flea market and gave us some......the wife cut them up and loves them. Now...they were NOT "Real" Shamwows.......I'd like to compare them and see if there is a difference.

"made in Germany...they make good stuff"......The guy creeps me out, but he does have a strange charisma about him.....He'd make a good assistant to Dr. Frankenstein, IMHO....a cross between a gecko and a wombat....

Do you notice that when he spills the pop, (or soda, depending on where you are from), the puddle is big, but then the camera cuts away, and when it returns, there is NO pop around the carpet?? BEFORE he does the pounding clean-up?? FAKE FAKE.......

The commercial is on every ten minutes......but you must call right now, in the next 20 minutes, because yta know, we can't do this all day.....cracks me up! Better then the 3 stooges !! Stay with me camera guy......I love it!

The Shamwow guy is a piece of work, they definitely broke the mold after him...

I have the miracle cloths, they are the best thing I ever bought other than my UGG boots..LOL

You do NOT need any more windex to clean the glass...Just wet, ring out, and the windows come squeaky clean..

I am going o get a few Shamwows..Also the slapchop...

My niece bought a bunch of Shamwows and uses them instead of disposable diapers for her 4 children under age three. She's a bit of a tree hugger (as well as having the libido of a rabbit) and feels they are much more environmentally friendly and will keep the icebergs from melting and baby seals from dying. The kids love them because they can slide all over her wooden floors and actually leave them cleaner --- except for those periodic accidents. My niece loves them because she doesn't have to change the babies nearly as often. I'm sure if she had a husband, he'd find a good use for the Shamwowed kids around the garage or workroom.

Win/win for everybody.

Kathie and JoJo,

I did not know either.

I asked Mr. Boomer if he had ever heard of this thing and he said, "Yeah, that guy's obnoxious."

So I guess whoever this guy is, he is memorable. Tony thinks he's great. Mr. B. thinks he's obnoxious. But he gets remembered. The name of the game.

I guess I'll have to watch for the commercial and see how I react to him.

Boomer

Thanks Islandgal,

I watched the commercial to test my reaction to the guy. I registered as immune I guess. He did not rub me one way or the other.

But I have to say that I may look at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for some of these things. Every floor in my house is a hard surface. Either wood or tile. And it's me and Murphy's Soap and an old t-shirt that's been put out to pasture. So I might give these things a shot.

The things I learn on TOTV while I am drinking coffee early in the morning. I now have a Slingbox and I will soon have a Shamwow.

You know, I have to admit that when I saw the name of this thing, I immediately started to wonder how they came up with the word. I know they had to be thinking 'chamois' and playing off that. But then going with 'sham' could get into all that denotation-connotation of words stuff what with the 'sham' implications and all. Trying to sell an admitted sham???? But then 'sham' could also just mean a fake 'chamois' and then...it really is a good name, etymology and all and.....ohhhhhhh, nooooooooo, now Mr. Tony will think I am an English major.
