Default Three old people in a liquor store

A true story...Publix, today...

After circling all the shelves three times not finding what I wanted, I approach the clerk at the register.

Me: I can't remember what you call this, but you mix it with vodka to make a martini.

Clerk: Tonic?

Me: No, it comes in a green bottle.

Lady shopper: SPRITE!

Me: No. It is also alcohol.

Clerk: (Points toward a shelf, jabbing his finger in rhythm with words)
Um,um,um, it's Martini, it's on the bottom shelf.....Um, VERMOUTH!

Me: Yes, beautiful bottle.

Lady shopper: I KNEW that! I'm a martini girl!

I love it, Kitty. Don't you hate when that happens?? Drives me nuts and the older I get, the more I forget things. Except, if it happened 20 years ago, my mind is as sharp as a tack.

Very cute story, thank you for sharing.

In the high school where I taught the younger teachers use to fill in my blanks when
i couldn't remember a name, place or thing. I named it "In Conversation Support". The special ed teachers especially liked the name.

This is an example of why I think there is a lot of good advice on ToTV.
