We will see the other member one day. After NOTHING but a unknown stretch of time the Higher Power, The Great and all Knowing and Benevolent Oz will probably let him off the hook! Probably being the key word. What a fun guy, sorta like a fungi, he spread his thoughts around. An equal opportunity offender!

I hear you, and feel terrible about the stress this has caused you. I really think that a medication precipitated my mother's death. This is why I'm so hesitant about new meds coming out and wonder why some doctors insist on immediately jumping on the bandwagon if there are older meds that can be used first. Personally, I would request for myself what I call an "oldy, but goody" med as first line treatment and then move on to the newer ones if that doesn't work. I do see a lot of doctors doing just that and admire their concern for the patient both therapy-wise and cost-wise. The guidelines for FDA approval have changed so much over the years that sometimes I think they are put on the market too fast and we, the consumer, become the guinea pigs.

Of course, your case is totally different and therefore NOTHING but outrageous. I think this is a new low in medicine that this kind of thing can even happen. First food, now medicine - what next?

Good Nucky description. Some people because of their unique personalities are hard to forget. You, Nucky, would definitely be another one of those people so keep yourself together and continue to be a good boy - lol.

Btw, it is Thursday, August 2nd. I don't want K coming on here and telling me I forgot my NOTHING duty. Keeping one step ahead of him isn't easy. There are days when I wonder why I even try because he doesn't seem to miss a trick. That's why I'm grateful when fw steps in - she's much more on the ball than me.

Hey, did you notice the trick I just pulled? I mentioned all of you in one NOTHING post!

Ouch.......back pain is one thing but when it's so bad you lose sleep over it that's NOTHING but miserable.

Please, make sure you take food with that Aleve, not just coffee. My please is not a request but an order...lol. I don't want to hear you talking about a stomach ache later.

And sorry for picking on you first thing this morning. I would have taken it easy on you if I'd known you were handicapped. :icon_wink:

Abby10 08-02-2018 10:15 AM

I have to get myself together and take off for work shortly. Hope you all have a great day!

K, I hope you don't have to work today if you're in too much pain. Experiencing pain is never good for your blood pressure so take good care of yourself because that's not NOTHING.

Nope. But sustained chronic pain can wear on you and may NOTHING but elevate your BP if you're prone to those issues. Of course even acute pain can do it but it won't continue to be elevated. So no excuses for not exercising....lol

I'm home now too. Hubby is at the Phillies game probably hoping it doesn't get rained out - not looking too promising out there.

I don't like posting with my phone either but since I was just babysitting at the store today I had time to check in. Well, babysitting and trying out the seat lift chairs with the "kids" in the store - that's NOTHING but anyone under 40 for me. We have these great new models that put you in different zones - TV viewing, sleep mode, and my favorite the Zero Gravity mode with an extra stretch that cracks your back. K, you probably could have used that today.

I can't say I'm really much of a couch potato, but I'll admit I've never sat so much since I started on NOTHING. It's a terrible addiction. I decided I have to do something about that when I get to TV - I'm going to buy a stand-up desk.

Maybe when we all get to TV your hubby and I could go to some Rays games..

NOTHING doing getting me anywhere near one of those zero gravity contraptions..

Nucky 08-02-2018 08:23 PM

Pain is the enemy, the Big Beautiful Pool is the answer to half of my pain. Sometimes it is hard to think of finishing out my time like this. I’m going to beat this if it’s the last thing I do. I’m tired of all the medicine. For today it is the answer but not for ever.

Can pain make you forget to put NOTHING in your post? At least I’d have a reason! I’m about due for a real screw up. It’s been a while.

He'll go anywhere as long as you're paying - lol. Seriously, I'm sure he would enjoy that. He's easy to be with and likes doing all kinds of things. He's not one to sit home and do NOTHING.

Btw, they are not contraptions! They're seat lift chairs - You know, like old people buy because they have a hard time getting up?!? Believe me, if you sat in the one called "the cloud" and reclined to your ZG zone, you would be out in 2 seconds.

I think pool exercise is great! My husband and I did the water aerobics class with Larry at the Savannah pool some years back. I never knew you could sweat in the water - what a work-out!

Stop being negative, and even if you do screw up as you put it, what does it mean anyway - NOTHING! You will still be loved by your NOTHING family and that's all that matters.

I don't know what all you are up against, but I know you're going to make it, Nucky. You've got such a good start and the determination to get to the end point......remember, one day at a time. And most importantly, from what I understand you have a wonderful wife who loves you and supports you. And then there's us - Team NOTHING rooting for you all the way.

Abby10 08-02-2018 08:41 PM

I can't believe I can hardly keep my eyes open and I still have to clean up the kitchen from dinner.

Where's the NOTHING maid when you need her? Oh that's right, that's me.......:sigh:

Abby10 08-02-2018 08:58 PM

Okay, so it looks like fw nodded off earlier than usual tonight and the 2 of you are too busy to play NOTHING. Since I have no other distractions around here to keep me awake tonight, I guess I'll just go to bed early too.

Nucky 08-02-2018 09:04 PM

I just got in from a Dinner Night with ten old friends from N.J. They ate like it was their last meal. I don’t get it. They ate triple or more than I ate and are not gaining NOTHING not one pound. All I have to do is think about the food and the weight comes on. Some things just ain’t fair.

I’m not exaggerating one bit it was a disgrace how much they ate. I kept quiet and stayed with the program. Brought my meal home in a tray not in my belly. Damn!

Hmmm.......sounds like you went out with a bunch of Italians like my husband's cousins - man, can they put away the food.

But here's the thing, you stuck to your plan - you did it! NOTHING better than that AND you have a second meal for tomorrow, so who really won? You, not them.

I find the older I get the less I can eat (and drink :(). The portions are ridiculous and I do end up bringing some home. NOTHING but another curse of getting older, slowing metabolism.

Kenswing 08-03-2018 09:20 AM

At least Mrs. FW I got to have Eggplant Parmigiana for breakfast and can’t even stand the thought of eating the pasta that came with it. Where is the Pepto? Lol.

I did eat some real garbage for desert, funny but I always have room for desert. I guess it was a compromise yesterday and a win today because I’ll be fine till dinner.

Eating properly is a true war. NOTHING IS EASY NOWADAYS!

Truer words were never spoken. I do NOTHING but love eggplant and have a recipe from Tomwed for it that I really like.

2 eggplants diced
5 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion chopped finely
4 clove garlic sliced
1 teaspoon sea salt
5 large tomatoes – skinned and deseeded
2 tablespoons tomato purée
1 cup water
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
2 tablespoons fresh mint – finely chopped
1 can cooked chickpeas – drained
PREPARATION
Add the eggplant to a large baking tray and toss them in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Roast on for 30 minutes until browned.
Add the remaining oil to a large pan and add in the onion, fry on a low to medium heat until soft and slightly browning. Add the garlic and cook for a further few minutes.
Next add the tomatoes, tomato purée, paprika, eggplant, and chickpeas. Cook for approximately 20 minutes. Add water if needed. Finally season with salt and the fresh mint.

The library check-out desk is like a stand up desk. I spent most of the day there fixing computers, doing research and answering questions.
When I got my house it seemed right and I couldn't put my finger on why.
About a year later the light bulb went on.
It's the same as the library--the wood is the same, the counter the same, even where I stand at the island is the same. You think that would have occurred to me sooner.
That's the kind of nothing story I like to write out.

That's what NOTHING is all about. My husband always says if he wants to hide something from me all he has to do is put it in plain sight.

tomwed 08-03-2018 12:08 PM

Here's another nothing story.
This morning I could not find the remote. I did the usual, removing the cushions, moving the sofa, looking on every flat surface, but nada. Once in 1978 I lost something I needed and could not find and I went through the garbage and found it. What a curse that turned out to be. For the last 40 years at least twice a year I loose something I need and after looking "everywhere else" I go thought the garbage. It's never there. The sofa I checked is a sleeper sofa, bed feature hasn't been used in years. I checked again. Somehow the remote slipped in the folded mattress.

Abby10 08-03-2018 04:54 PM

Sorry to let you NOTHINGS down today. I'm really feeling under the weather today and just didn't have much to say or energy to post it. Thanks, fw, for always being there to start out the day and to tomwed - love your stories, keep them coming along with your funny quips. It will help to keep things upbeat in lieu of the news today.

Upon hearing K's news, I feel we owe it to him to keep things going around here while he is out on an important and courageous mission. So proud of that NOTHING. Sending prayers his way for him to return home safely and quickly. Also prayers for his wife and other family members, that they are free of worry and find peace in the only One who can provide it at times like this.

So carry on with any and all NOTHING in support of our Kommander......
