Thanks Tom. It all sounds NOTHING but great. Although I’m not sure Mrs. K is the camping type. lol

It’s only 47 this morning. Almost too cold to get out of my sleeping bag. But NOTHING will keep me from going home.

I was wondering about the nighttime temps up there because I heard it was getting cold. Was going to ask how you were keeping warm but figured I didn't probably want to hear what you had to say about that bit of NOTHING.

Here's a camping tip that's worth way more then nothing. When I get cold in a sleeping bag I watch the news. Sometimes it gets me so angry I'm beside myself which helps keep me warm in a sleeping bag.

Which reminds me of a nothing story. I use to go winter camping with the scouts, boys and dads. So to keep warm I shared a sleeping bag with my younger son. So sometime in the middle of the night I hear him whispering, "dad, wake up, dad wake up, dad i have to,,,,never mind." The sleeping bag did get a little warmer for a little while.

I have never been camping and now I never will. NOTHING but the Marriott for me.

AMEX uses the same service. They all funnel down to TRUECAR which the two dealers I showed the price to said sure I'll match that price and then come back with some financial voodoo with the bottom line being the same but they just move the numbers around and change the interest rate.

NOTHING but TINKLE DOWN ECONOMICS, ala tomwed camping history!

The thing that sends me into orbit is the dealer fee! That's something I would collect not pay, Capishe? :1rotfl:

In my former life, I jogged every morning, played squash daily, and rode my horse often.
I accomplished NOTHING except I did wear out both knees.

Did you click the heels of your red shoes together and say "There's no place like home?" Oh right you NOTHING but drove for 3 hours. Welcome back.

Thanks, K. Can't wait to get home and check it out. Maybe I'll do it at bedtime and then do NOTHING but thank my lucky stars for my comfy accommodations. So glad you're back but probably not as happy as you and the Mrs. Enjoy your evening.

NOTHING but a huge contrast from the ugliness of the fire zone. Hard to believe they are so close together.

These are great videos. I learned quite a bit. I'm glad you have a paper map and something more techy. Nothing worse then when the techy stuff stops working. I suppose there are a lot of things that are worse but I needed to slip in the word nothing.

Nucky 09-05-2018 08:31 PM

A rarity I'm NOTHING but almost speechless. You have the most challenging job I've ever heard of. I would last about 10 minutes with all the smoke, you all, firefighters are unbelievable. A whole lot of similarities to a soldier. Even the family contributes to the cause. Can't be easy. Hats off to all!

Yeah, even 20 miles away you can see how smoked in the camp is.

They give us QR codes to scan the maps into our phones. I don't even bother. Nothing better than having a stack of 11"x17" paper maps that you can lay out on the hood of your truck and write notes on..

I don't know who kills more trees, the Forest Service or the fire. Everyday they print up the Incident Action Plan which is usually in the 30 page range. Then the stack of maps which can often be 20 or more pages.

It's not really that bad unless you get an out of control supervisor who wants to save the world. Most of the time we work with a really great bunch of guys. It makes the day go by faster and we actually get more done and everyone gets home in one piece.

I'll admit though, 31 days on the same fire was a bit too long. lol The Warden says I'm done for the year. We'll see..

Nucky 09-05-2018 09:06 PM

I have NOTHING but a little bad news. On MSN there is a story about Mary Ann. She's in trouble and it isn't the baby we were kidding around about. Check it out its for real I'm sorry to say.

One of these days I'm going to sleep in like a normal person especially now that I'm off of "worry duty". In the meantime, today is Thursday, September 6th, and I have more appointments than I can shake a stick at.

Not for NOTHING but if this is the last car you plan on buying and what you really want is a Mini Cooper then that is what you should buy. My neighbor just negotiated a price for a car from a dealership in Tampa (not a Mini) and they are going to deliver it. Then you could join the Mini club and have a blast.

Live each day as if it was your last and live your life as if it was everlasting.

Not good advice for me. If I do this my days would be filled with no exercise and lots of hot fudge and ice cream. I am NOTHING but bad.

Some how I'm not surprised coming from you. Last night I stopped and had an ice cream cone on my way from work. It's an indulgence I usually avoid because I don't know how to stop once I start. So anyway, the first thing I thought of was you at the time because I know from your posts how much you like ice cream. My second thought was it's a good thing we don't live together - I would be NOTHING but a mess if I kept ice cream in the house.
