I see last night was a busy night and only 2 of us were MIA. Usually Friday nights are Deadsville on NOTHING so I was surprised to see all the activity.

Sure would like to talk to Mrs K sometime about that foot reconstruction she had. I took a bad fall in my late 30's and had some damage to my right foot. Unfortunately, the damage was overlooked at the time by the ortho doctor that I went to see and was never corrected. Didn't find out until probably a year later that there were all kinds of bone chips floating around in there. Long story short, it frustrates the heck out of me now because I notice at the gym or when I'm walking long distances the only thing that keeps me from doing more is my darn feet!! Heels - fuhgettaboutit! Anyway, enough griping for now. Besides, if that's all I have to complain about at my age I should thank my lucky stars........

Today is Saturday, January 19th. Hope you all have another great day!

I'm sure you'll get your chance. She had a plantar facia release along with a mid-foot fusion. Other than the two months off work she was NOTHING but happy with the results.

Not to worry there will be plenty of bad driving to entertain you year round here. NOTHING but tons of people who don't know how to drive or can't remember. :icon_wink:

Abby10 01-19-2019 01:05 PM

Here's some entertainment for you -

Sometimes I think K would make the perfect husband for me. Now don't get too excited and let's not start any rumors, just hear me out. I like having my mornings to myself and I like them to be quiet. I can get up at a reasonable hour somewhere between 6 & 8 and know that K won't be on here til about 11 or 11:30. I like predictability. There's NOTHING like that here. My husband's hours are all over the board and like a box of chocolates, I never know what I'm gonna get in the morning.

Then there's the fact that K's bedtime is much later than mine meaning it will be easier to keep the fire burning. I don't mean that fire - I mean the fireplace fire! It's always a big deal here about who's gonna roll out of bed first and take care of stoking the fire. God forbid should the heater turn on - lol

And last but not least - he's 3000 miles away and I can turn him off and on with a tap of a computer button......:1rotfl::1rotfl:

Disclaimer to dispel any ridiculous rumors this could foster: There is no trouble in paradise in this household. Some mornings I just miss my lengthy quiet time.......:sigh:

That is true. And six to ten year olds driving golf carts during the various holiday seasons.

We will be out of the 224,999 range at the next hourly count on NOTHING.

I lived in Denver, Colorado for a year and Minneapolis, MN for 5.5 years. But I abandoned a car in Belmont, CA in 1985 having had enough of driving in winter conditions as well as heavy SF Bay area traffic. When I got to Minneapolis in 1986 I relied on public transportation and my own two feet.

My car spun out in Salt Lake City on the highway around December of 1983 and I spent a few hours of the 1983 New Year's Eve with my front wide shield facing the highway while I was stuck in a snow bank outside of Cheyenne, WY. Then there was that attempted car jacking in Eastern Nevada in June of 1984.

And the moral of the story:

NOTHING is ever perfect! Amazing how that fits right in with our thread. Just grateful we NOTHINGs have been blessed with wonderful spouses and praying for Tal to someday find the same.

It's better that way. Sometimes when you stray out of NOTHING I am too tempted to be the follower and Mutt and Jeff are at it again.

I sure have had trouble in that department. I am usually attracted to funny and skinny blondes and so are a whole lot of other men and not for NOTHING even though I dated a heavy African American opera singer whom I worked with in Belmont, CA and had a Chinese-American woman squeeze my hand quite hard when we were watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in Denver. Ran around with her in Northern CA as friends as she had a boyfriend who was and is a great guy. She is a children's librarian in Los Angeles and he wanted to be a screenwriter but wound up a school teacher. I did talk to her about a lot of stuff.

Had a lot of dinners with two very Catholic women Spanish Professors while at the U of MN in our dorm. They were from Bilbao. These were graduate students who taught undergraduate Spanish. I often hung around with the international students in the dorm as I had little in common with the law students. There was a history Graduate student at the U of MN who was kind of a friend and we had things in common and he hung around with this international group especially those from Latin America or Spain. He was from Texas.

NOTHING wrong with being a follower but you don't seem much like the type being our fearless leader of NOTHING. That's a LOT of shredding -WOW!

Anyway, did I get in before you all fell asleep? Getting too old to keep up with this late night partying anymore........

I shredded NOTHING but another bag full. I would guess I'm at the halfway point of everything I need to shred.. At least on one of my desks I can now see wood.. lol

Hello, yous all NOTHING'S, I was criticized as some kind of a loon for leaving my desk in perfect condition, spotless when I went home for the day. I would put fake bulletins on my desk and turn around from the desk leave it in a spot where the truck driver I was grilling could read it upside down. Within an hour the phony baloney that I planted would be spread over the two-way radios that they all had. I got a kick outta pushing their leg.

I am a shredder big time but had to replace them yearly until I got a Fellowes Shredder about 5 years ago, it can take the heat but now not too much paperwork to shred. Another NOTHING but a benefit of The Villages. :clap2:

I am NOTHING but a shredder also. Way back when computers first came to be they were supposed to eliminate the need for so much paper but I think the opposite effect is true.

This is soooo eerie. Our shredder was delivered last Thursday. Wow -- are we Nothings clairvoyant? #MeToo. LOL

Abby10 01-20-2019 10:15 AM

Ahhhh......back from the gym and nobody is awake yet.......heavenly. Simple things make me so happy. Shredding is another one of those simple things, so I guess that makes us all part of the shred club - lol.

Today is Sunday, January 20th. Haven't even had my first cup of coffee yet so be back in 2 seconds to NOTHING.

On NOTHING but the moved down here I bought Shedder Oil, 2 bottles https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....LL._SX679_.jpg left the shredder half full with paper, taped the top of these bottles, put them in a bag, put them back into the paper catcher part of the shredder and tapped it shut. It was secure so I thought. NOTHING doing. The surrounding boxes smelled like salad and oil all over my stuff only, thankfully.

Just got off the phone with the grandkids up north and no snow yet.
Even though the really big storms concern me down here I enjoy the trade-off of No Mo Sno.

My one weakness is NOTHING but good espresso.. Not the swill they serve at Starbucks. Up here we have small independent coffee stands on just about every corner and they all have pretty good coffee. Luckily I have a real good place about 2 miles from the house.

I can't imagine driving 2 miles to get coffee. I am such a city girl and used to having everything close by. I don't even drive 2 miles to go to the market. My idea of going to get coffee is NOTHING but what Abby described going into the kitchen and using a K-cup.

Sorry for being so personal but my curiosity got the best of me. So only one weakness?? I can think of at least one more with the initials i.c. and maybe another that has to do with pigs. Oh, and another "p" word too - lol

I better find something else to do or I may get into NOTHING but trouble on here today. :crap2:

My brother and sister-in-law go quite the distance for NOTHING but good coffee and some kind of donut or another.

I never really found any taste for coffee. Have some diet sodas instead. Had to switch to diet after I started to get dizzy often from too much sugar.

Bought some diet soda this morning and got checked out by a cute cashier named Emily. Too young for me but nice on the eyes.

The funny thing is the place I get coffee is the closest ANYTHING to our house except for the small convenience store on the lake. If it wasn't for going out to get coffee the batteries in my truck would NOTHING but die.. lol

I used to drink NOTHING but a six pack of Diet Coke a day until I read about the risks of aspartame. Now my afternoon cocktail of choice is Ginger Ale mixed with orange juice. There's a restaurant/brewery we go to on occasion that brews their own rootbeer that is spectaculary good. That's more of a treat than a habit though.

I'm not even going to try to argue that point. The minute I got out of work one day this last rather stressful week, my first inclination was to hit the ice cream shop on the way home. The idea of eating some good ice cream seemed like NOTHING but the best stress buster. Then I realized it would cause other things to bust too, one being my healthy eating regimen, and I decided to find a deer to hit on the way home instead.........JUST KIDDING!!!!

I found that drinking diet soda gives me NOTHING but an instant headache. I'm not big on soda anyway unless it's a Coke, but that's a rare treat for me because of the sugar content.

Root beer is another soda that I do like. Birch beer too for that matter, which I like even more. The rest are NOTHING to me.

My grandmother used to make homemade root beer. I remember lining the bottles up in the bathtub for a period of time to be sure the bottles wouldn't explode before refrigerating them. NOTHING but delicious!

I do not drink soda of any kind and am a Starbucks fan.

We went to the Pencil Drawing Art fair today which is not anything I would normally do but one of the artists is the sister of one of our neighbors so we had to vote for her. Art is not of interest to me and when we went to see the Mona Lisa I thought it was NOTHING but an ugly little painting. I like more earthy things like glass and pottery.

Meathead and Gloria From All In The Family brought home a piece of Art on a Loaner basis. They were admiring it as a beautiful magnificent piece but yours truly sided with Archie, I didn't get the beauty of it at all. I understand. I went to a coffee seminar once and was very surprised to learn that the dark roast coffee has less caffeine than the light roast. Roasting actually decreases the caffeine. That means NOTHING to me though in my preference.
