No, believe me, he's NOTHING but launched. When we figured out his assets he probably has his retirement plan already in place at 32 years old. He's a smart kid who knows how to leverage money and keeps a careful budget - not a spendthrift, no fancy cars, etc. The problem is he keeps using our house as a landing spot when the company he works for bounces him back and forth between here and it's corporate center 10+ hours away. This has been his longest stay here since he graduated college. Since it looks like he may be here to stay in this job position for awhile he finally got his own place but he's not moving out fast enough for me. I love him to death, but I guess I'm not good at sharing - lol

So today's mission - I'm reclaiming my office space. It's a long story but let's just say someone may end up not too happy when he gets home from work today.

I should add the "he" is not my husband. Someone else is dragging his feet moving out of here.........I won't mention any names or affiliations - lol

I am just NOTHING but happy that "he" is not your husband.

Mrs. K and I were talking about this the other night. With all the effort we have to put into getting her parents to doctor appointments and making sure they have the right medications we are NOTHING but wondering what we're going to when we get old. Granted we're a whole lot more tech savvy than her folks but still...

That is absolutely the best reason to come to TV. Once you are no longer able to take care of yourselves the assisted living facilities here are wonderful. My dad's biggest complaint when he was in assisted living is how he felt imprisoned because without a car there was no place he could go. Here they are all golf cart or walking distance from stores and restaurants and activities. This is NOTHING but the best place to transition and have quality of life.

Not to worry my friend. Like FW said they even have that covered over here. NOTHING has been overlooked. I'd move into one of those joints right now but I think I'm gonna lay low for a while and stop acting like a male Lucille Ball.

Fortunately ours wasn't a decision due to hardship, it was just circumstances and it made sense for him not to tie himself down to a lease or a house purchase here if he was going to be transferred again before the year was up. It's just time now. We're all NOTHING but wanting our own space and apparently the work he's done there has helped keep the place afloat so I guess he feels more confident he'll be in the area for awhile.

Couldn't agree more, fw. Although we have some very nice facilities right out our back door here as well, you still have to deal with the weather, and believe me they cost an arm and a leg.......and no golf carts - lol

And K, don't feel bad, my husband and I have had the same conversation. Just because one has children doesn't mean you can always count on them. We've decided it's best to count on our son for NOTHING. For all we know, he won't even be living in this country at that time so we know better than to put all our eggs in that basket. I plan to have the place I want to go should I need assistance picked out and planned for well in advance.

One good thing is that she loves what she's doing right now.

She had a foot reconstructed a few years back and it was NOTHING but a great thing. If it wasn't for that she'd be lucky to walk 500 steps a day.

Holy Mackeral Andy, I NOTHING but forgot to tell one of the kids we moved to Florida over 2 years ago. Damn, I knew I forgot something. When the time comes it comes and in many ways, people are used as doormats constantly until they draw the line. Donated platelets this late morning and early afternoon and not for NOTHING. I should be up to 25 gallons the next time I do a platelet donation. And I will have to see when I can donate platelets again. It may be a while.

Said "hi" to Baxter who had a ball in his mouth and then ran away. Baxter is one of Bare's and Fireboy's pooches.

Been watching the 2018 movie Halloween on Blu-Ray. Kind of an interesting take on that story. And I like the details in this movie.

Good Morning NOTHING heads. Just checking in, today is supposed to be wonderful pool weather. Maybe just a tab bit nicer than what our families are facing up North. Do I miss that whole scene, nope? Besides where can you buy Chains or Studded Snow Tires for The Golf Cart? Glad to be here.

We are recruiting more nice peoples every day. So COME ON DOWN!

Make me jealous.......;) Good morning, Nucky. Wow, you beat both me and fw this morning. Nice surprise!

I see last night was a busy night and only 2 of us were MIA. Usually Friday nights are Deadsville on NOTHING so I was surprised to see all the activity.

Sure would like to talk to Mrs K sometime about that foot reconstruction she had. I took a bad fall in my late 30's and had some damage to my right foot. Unfortunately, the damage was overlooked at the time by the ortho doctor that I went to see and was never corrected. Didn't find out until probably a year later that there were all kinds of bone chips floating around in there. Long story short, it frustrates the heck out of me now because I notice at the gym or when I'm walking long distances the only thing that keeps me from doing more is my darn feet!! Heels - fuhgettaboutit! Anyway, enough griping for now. Besides, if that's all I have to complain about at my age I should thank my lucky stars........

Today is Saturday, January 19th. Hope you all have another great day!

Looks like we're off to a good start already today here on NOTHING! When I read fw's post I was about to respond the same way, Nucky. NOTHING like having an open day in a perfect place with perfect weather. I hope you both enjoy the day whatever you do. Yeah, my aunt and uncle are still NOTHING but stuck in Boston - poor things. They are trying to get my uncle strong enough to make the trip back to Florida. The good news is that someone in this household will be traveling down with them. The fight isn't over yet as to which one of us it will be - lol

I would NOTHING but claw my way to the top of that pile. I think that "someone" should plan on an extended stay until he is completely better.

BK001 01-19-2019 07:42 AM

Good morning all -
I've been up for hours but have been nothing but organizing bathroom -- hba's, cosmetics, medicine cabinet, etc. Amazing how much one accumulates. I try so hard to dispose and discard but I seem to need to do it in small doses. I watched 3 episodes of Hoarders: Buried Alive as an incentive (although I am in reality a minimalist, I still need motivation and watching the horror of that disease helps me to make uncomfortable choices "This is good - I may need it someday".) No less than 4 cans of hairspray? I haven't used hairspray in a couple of years, why am I keeping it?

So, have a great day all -- my goal is to stay off the computer today (a great avoidance mechanism - even if it is to google "organization ideas" lol. See you later.

I'll let you know the more than NOTHING outcome. Whoever it is will probably also be making a run to TV to check out some furniture in person. I would love to be the one and my husband wouldn't mind (after all, it is MY aunt and uncle - lol) but it just depends on our schedules and if I could get the time off on such short notice.

I hear you on that one! Sounds like you and I are on the same wavelength for the new year - organizing and purging. Keeping busy around the house also keeps me from thinking about snacking, so NOTHING but good for the waistline too! Glad you checked in. Hope you have a productive day!

I kind of miss the snow. Have not seen any since 1994 and not for NOTHING. I used to see a lot of it as I worked one winter at the Junior Ski Program at Sky Tavern up Mt Rose near the area between Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada. I had to hurry down to the candy shop which was downstairs from the lunch room. They would be a stampede of kids wearing ski boots coming down the stairs to get candy. NOTHING but very loud. I don't think anyone ever hated snow more than I do. Our first thought was to buy a vacation home here and come down for the winter and the more my husband thought about it the more he decided there was really no good reason to keep our house up north. I was NOTHING but ecstatic. Any friends and family that we still have up there can come to Florida to visit. I have no desire to go back.

And Tal going to Alaska in the winter is my very worst nightmare. I think that is where bad Florida residents go when they die. :1rotfl:
