Well the 1989 American Association of Law Libraries convention was in Reno, Nevada just about 8 weeks or so after I had graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School the May of 1989. Ran into two University of Nevada, Reno professors while in Reno. Both of these were Philosophy professors. I had cataloged all the computer files on WESTLAW around 1988-1990 or so for a national project working with conjunction with someone at SUNY at Buffalo's Law Library doing the LEXIS computer files. These were the two most used legal research databases at that time. NOTHING but quite an opportunity and I had been at the U of MN Law School at their Library when the Law Library Director there became Law Librarian of Congress. She was that from about 1990- 1995.

Taltarzac725 09-19-2020 07:58 PM

Another philosophy professor whom I had not seen that Summer of 1989 in Reno, Nevada had a wife who was the law librarian for the National Judicial College. This is on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. Home | The National Judicial College | NJC

And I had run into some of my old colleagues from Information Access Company where I had worked from around September of 1984 through @ June of 1986 as an indexer/abstractor. They made products which they sold to libraries of all kinds and not for NOTHING.

In 1992, I had started writing victim assistance providers-- many of which are attached to law enforcement agencies-- to see what they would like to see in libraries of all kinds to help victims/survivors cope. This NOTHING but connects to collection development methods I picked up while getting my Masters in Librarianship and Information Management which I got after a year program in 1983-1984 at the University of Denver.

Had ordered the National Organization for Victim Assistance large binder of victim assistance providers in the US. It had around 8000 of these in this binder.

Started writing them in the Summer of 1992 and did try to share the letters received with many other different kinds of groups. And not for NOTHING. NOVA: Home

Philosophy BA December 1980, History May 1981. University of Nevada, Reno..

Had earned two BAs at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) and had started there in the Fall of 1976 on a very small Memorial Scholarship in the name of Michelle Mitchell. She was the daughter of my 1975-1976 Earl Wooster HS remedial English teacher-- Mrs. Barbara Mitchell.

My mother had me when she had the flu so I had a lot of developmental problems. I had not done all that well in high school but Mrs. Barbara Mitchell had seen something in me and turned me around and got me hooked on books.

I did very well in college at UNR and would have done even better if not for a very bone-headed streak. And not for NOTHING.

Had gone to BYU Law School in late August of 1982 on a Merit Scholarship that covered the tuition so that I was paying the same as a Mormon even though I was and am a Lutheran. I dropped out falling in love with law librarianship at BYU. But not much fondness of the practice of law.

Since I was in a study on the unemployed conducted by the University of California San Francisco Health Sciences Campus as subject #613 in late 1992-1993, I started contacting a lot of public health professors and Deans in many institutions of higher learning. I had shown the researcher/interviewer I had been assigned by UCSF Health Sciences Campus some of the letters I had received while pushing for getting better materials for survivors/victims of crimes in law and other kinds of libraries and not for NOTHING.

LOL... No bacon for the Spoiler for awhile.

I do get to eat 6 times a day right now though. But only what can flow through the 1/4” piece of aquarium tubing that some silly Doc poked into my tum tum a couple of weeks ago.

Not sure how many of you have ever had a feeding tube, but this being my first experience, it really ain’t that bad. Doesn’t hurt and you can eat pretty fast if you have a big enough funnel.

One serious note....It’s important not to try to feed yourself while sitting buck naked on one of them cheapo vinyl folding chairs. Why you might ask.. Well if it’s humid out, you can airlock if you ain’t careful.

I almost had a serious problem with this the other day when it first happened to me. All was going good, until I airlocked and one of my tennis shoes immediately blew off and almost went through the TV screen. (Mrs Spoiler would have really been torqued if she’d had to miss one of her programs.. )

Nothing else to report right now...

Be safe out there...

And NOTHING but Happy Birthday to my grand niece. She is the grand daughter of my late younger brother. I only found about her in 2015 after my younger brother had passed. He passed in late December and did live here in the Villages for about 18 months around 2009-2010. Recalled he had wanted to see the 2010 movie The Book of Eli here in the Villages when it came out.

I had not known that he had gotten someone he dated for a short while pregnant in Reno, Nevada in 1982 or so. Did not find that out until 2015.

Happy Birthday to Heather Locklear this September 25, 2020.

I had walked through an episode filming for T.J. Hooker in front of the Pasadena, CA public library around 1985 or so when interviewing there for a reference librarian position. NOTHING but had taken the Amtrak train down and back from San Jose, CA. Long day if I remember correctly. Had a Amtrak fellow passenger on the way back who was an English Professor who specialized in the works of Henry James.
