I had written the National Organization for Victim Assistance back around 1992 to get a copy of their Directory of Victim Assistance Programs and Resources to get addresses for each state's various Victim Assistance programs to see what they would like to see in their various kinds of libraries. I wrote probably 15 to 35 of these in each state. Usually until I got a response from whichever agency was the one that supervised the work of the others and not for nothing. I sent out these letters in 1992. Mostly in that Summer.

I did get a lot of answers from just about every US state's agencies .

And then shared what I received with various associations involved with libraries of all kinds.


I recall I got a lot of responses from agencies in Minnesota, New Jersey and California.

I had nothing but shared this with my interviewer at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Campus back in late 1992-1993 while a participant in a study on stress on the unemployed over 17 weeks. I drove down four times to meet with this woman and have blood drawn as subject #613.

I started using #613 along with #224 in a lot of my correspondence after being in this study.

The interviewer said I had a good cause but did not tell me this until after my last blood draw.

I also started writing Deans of various schools of public health as I saw this access to useful information for survivors of crimes as a public health problem.

I often saw this as just common sense and would describe my approach that way.

My parents moved from Scottsdale, AZ in 1986 just before I took off to the Twin Cities to start law school at the U of MN .

They lived just off the green from the Red Lion Inn in Rohnert Park, CA . There would sometimes be movie production trailers at the Red Lion Inn during the nine years my parents lived there. These were about 120 feet from our back yard.

I did run into various people while walking my Dalmatian and then Cocker Spaniel but we would usually talk about all the swan and duck poop around the parking lot and grass just off the golf course. And not for Nothing.

I do remember Sylvester Stallone sneaking into the Red Lion Inn by wearing a nun's habit. I suppose he was trying to avoid well-informed paparazzi.

My parents' 1970s bridge partner along with his much taller blonde wife gave me some pointers as to whom to write about my 224 613 Project. These were usually telephone calls though so no record. We did communicate by mail or e-mail on occasion. And not for Nothing.

He was well known enough to be on Celebrity Deathmatch. But as the referee.


I did talk with him a little bit in the 1970s about the Michelle Mitchell murder investigation such as it was. She had been murdered on 2-24-1976 near the University of Nevada, Reno. The Mitchell family had given me and another teen a small Memorial Scholarship in her name for the 1976-1977 school year. I used it for the University of Nevada, Reno. 2-24 is my actual birthday but I put a different one down for my Talk of the Villages' information. I earned two BAs from UNR. One in Philosophy the 2nd in History.
