Gary Corsair formerly of The Villages Daily Sun had written a short story with a photo of me and my pooch Sport back on Memorial Day of 2007 about my 224 613 Project but he did not use those two numbers but I think he had mentioned Barbara and Michelle Mitchell and the investigation into Michelle's murder and my going into libraries in the Reno, Nevada area looking for materials to help my fellow Earl Wooster High School students cope and finding nothing. I found very little in just about every library of every type in various states for decades after that. There were exceptions here and there. I even found very little in the huge U of Minnesota Library system. A reference librarian could find a lot but I never really saw victims survivors of crimes asking for help all that much. Now defendants are another story. I have not found them shy about asking for assistance.

You can say that again. And not for nothing.

July 30, 1992 letter from the President of the California Victim and Witness Coordinating Council.

"A law library is a very logical place to house both hard copy and computerized information concerning victims and victimization. Victims and their advocates are often very frustrated in their efforts to get information about statutes, agencies and institutions that pertain to their situation. A law library can and should see as a repository for such information.

The California Victim Witness Assistance Coordinating Council applauds and supports the efforts to persuade law libraries to be more responsive to this community need."

Of course, I shared that letter with everyone I could think of at that time. I was trying to create an ongoing and international dialogue about the subject.

I had not started as subject 613 just yet at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Campus. But did show my interviewer many of the letters I had received.

After I was done as a subject she said what I was doing was very worthwhile. So, of course, I started to write public health people.

Hollywood has been involved with the 224 613 Project at least since I gave a certain French actress permission when she wrote me on Facebook if they could be part of my thing. I said, of course, in French. This was around July of 2016. I had asked for their assistance long before that around 1991 or 1992. Not for nothing. There used to be movie production trailers a few yards from my parent's house in Rohnert Park across the golf course green at the Red Lion Inn. They were shooting movies in the Santa Rosa, CA area and its vicinity. Another very prominent actress on Facebook asked if I needed anything from them. I wrote back "Nothing right now." This was in 2024. She is a lot more famous than the guy from Lord of the Rings. My precious.

Mills Lane had me send a bunch of my documents to a friend of his to see if he or she could do anything for me. He seemed like a pretty decent but tough guy. I was very sorry to hear that he had passed a while back. I was curious about what happened with Holyfield's ear but was afraid to ask.

He used to play bridge with my Dad who was frequently dealing with celebrities and their property insurance claims as well as appearing as an expert witness and his dealings with the court probably were how he became friends with Mills Lane. He also handled the claims involving celebrities or some celebrities in Northern California and had mentioned that he wanted to write a book about all of it but the nondisclosure agreements kept him from doing so.

My Dad also took me on some of his arson investigations as well as to the Lake Tahoe hotel/casino bombing.
