Okay, 2 NOTHING back stories for Nucky -
I had a herniated disc repair back in 1988. It was quite successful but only because it was an easy fix. My surgeon told me his resident could do it but I insisted he do it because I didn't want anyone else messing with my spine. Of course, since I was out during the surgery I have no idea who really did it - duh. Anyway, the only reason I had it done was not because of the pain since I was managing that easily with Motrin (ibuprofen) and not even taking much of it, but I had lost all reflexes on my one side and my primary told me because I was so young the nerve damage would ultimately cripple me. You won't believe how I herniated the disc. I was pregnant with my son and fell down a flight of stairs. Knowing I was pregnant at the time I thought quickly enough to throw myself backwards so I would land (it was really a slam) on my back instead of my stomach.......mothering instincts kicked in real early for me. Now on the other hand, my husband has had back issues forever. He will not even consider going under the knife. In his mid-30's he was diagnosed with a degenerative spine like that of an 80 year old. Probably from playing football and heavy weight lifting since he was a teen. He has learned to live with it but often times it's not easy. I tell you this, Nucky, because he would be the first to encourage you to get the weight off then work on building up your core and your back muscles to provide support to ease the pain. When we get down there I know he would be happy to talk to you about it and show you what he does to keep himself going. He has learned a lot of different techniques. I have never known him to take so much as a Tylenol. Some days I get frustrated with him because I wish he would, but he's NOTHING but stubborn about not being dependent on meds. So K, if you're still awake, I have one last plea. I've noticed the view count has gone through the roof since you got back, not to mention the post count. I think that's NOTHING but a good reason why you should not leave us again.
Apparently crying doesn't work with you - lol |

Well, I guess you have to do what you have to do. But I don't have to like it. I think I heard that line somewhere recently.
Rest assured, your NOTHING team will be here holding down the fort and praying for your safe return. You've got a great bunch here. I'd be NOTHING without them. |

Good morning you lovely bunch of NOTHING’S. I get the idea and appreciate the new core concept but first we must find a Exorcist to help me exercise these poor eating habits. I’ve lost then regained the same tonage several times over the years, taking the pledge not to each time.
Some random man in a restaurant about two weeks ago who we got into a conversation about weight loss told me about a program called Overeaters Anonymous. It is based on the A.A. program. I have heard this is fantastic if you’re honest with yourself about the problem you are facing. I went to O.A. 40 years ago but didn’t keep going because of being lazy I guess. Anyway I was so on the good eating track before our mission of mercy and want to get back in the saddle ASAP. One day God willing I can get in the saddle while it’s on the horse. Love all the feedback. One question?? Rolling Bundles? Your Gear? |

My sister who is seven years younger than I am has had so many surgeries. Seems I cleaned all the healthy genes from the pool when I was born. She has had back surgery and surgery on her 2 feet and had part of her intestine removed. She has metal plates and screws everywhere and requires special screening when she flies. The poor thing is NOTHING but the bionic woman. So sad.

Anyway, we have certainly been having "fun" discussing operations and ailments as of late. Darn, you'd think we were a bunch of old people - ![]() Anyway, it's Monday, August 20th. Hope K and his wife have an enjoyable day together and he doesn't have too much work to catch up on before "leaving" us all again. Well, I guess it could be worse. He could end up somewhere with no internet access. Then NOTHING would truly be in survival mode, so let's pray that doesn't happen. Can you put that on your placement form, K? That you must have internet availability or NOTHING will die. |

I hate typing on a smart phone, apple or android. Does anyone use a talk to text app they would recommend? I could look online, and an anonymous review is better then nothing, maybe, but what is best is a review from someone you know who uses a talk to text app that woks with TOTV all the time.
In fact if I was a moderator----I would jump in this conversation too. That convenience would encourage growth. |

Since we have a pharmacist online, I have a question. I bought some metal bar stools with wooden seats and boy oh boy are they uncomfortable. I can't sew so I can't make cushions. I can't afford a professional. And the likelihood of finding a cushion that's the right color and fits is rather remote. So last night before the movie I was in Walgreens, looking for nothing in particular, killing time and I saw a bottle of stool softeners and took them before I went to bed but so far the bar stools are no softer. How long does it take to work?

Anyway, maybe somebody new to NOTHING will chime in here with an answer. It may be a good solution to K's "my fingers are too big" dilemma as well. |

Yes, Arizona is a place I enjoy visiting. They have the best cactus there, the Saguaro, it is one of the only places that it will grow and it only grows in the southern portion of the state. I am NOTHING but happy for her.
