On the Saturday before Christmas they put on a huge event in a parking lot in the city where they give out toys and food to the area residents and children. So today, Ollie's offered to open their doors at 6am just to this ministry and 15% off all their toys as a contribution to this year's event. So my husband and his buddies were over there this morning with trucks and vans loading up on toys purchased from money they had from donations to the ministry.

The Christmas event is really something to experience. They bring in 2 tractor trailers and set up one with stuffed animals and the other with all kinds of toys. Everything is hung up on the inside of the truck walls so it looks like a store - very festive. The kids walk through the trucks picking out one stuffed animal and one toy each. As if the kids aren't excited enough since these are often the only toys they ever get on Christmas, as they go to step out of the 2nd truck they walk right into a fenced in area that contains hundreds of bicycles that the ministry has received as donations throughout the year and the kids are told they are allowed to pick out a bike to take home. To see the looks on their faces is NOTHING but priceless!!

I've only been able to make it one year, but am hoping to go again this year with my husband since it looks like I might be scheduled off work that Saturday. It is a very humbling and joyful way to start out the Christmas week.
I do love stuff like that. I think if instead of fighting and protesting if everyone just tried to help in some small way the world would be a nice place.

I woke up NOTHING but sick, sore throat, congestion and body aches. So will be going back to bed soon.

I'm so sorry. I just knew something wasn't right. I'll be for you to get well soon. Here's a little something that I think you'll like for Veteran's day. NOTHING but Toby Keith for our country music loving sister -

Toby Keith's American Soldier with Lyrics - YouTube

You men and your ability to nap so well. And yes, I'm NOTHING but jealous again. So I'm dry mopping then wet mopping the floor downstairs which is a back breaker because the whole first floor has to be done - no carpet. In the meantime, my husband comes home from his adventure in Camden today and plops down on the couch and falls asleep - well he did get up at 4:30 so I can't blame him. I leave that room for last figuring by the time I get there he'll be awake. NOTHING doing. So I start mopping around him and realize there are some things I want up off the floor and where he is laying is where I usually put them to finish the job. Hmmm......I wonder if I'll wake him if I just put them on top of him? And if I do, I wonder if he'll move and knock everything over before I'm done? Well, the answer was no and no. I finished the job, he woke up shortly after I was done, I had moved on to other things by then, and he didn't even realize I used him as a shelf.

Sunday is supposed to be NOTHING but a day of rest. What are you doing performing that mopping nonsense?

Napping is my specialty. But if you touch me while I'm asleep you had better do it from a distance or you might be mopping the floor again.. lol

I've taken care of the day of rest thing for everyone. I have been in bed all day and done literally NOTHING. My throat feels better though and the body aches are better.

Then that's NOTHING but exactly what you needed. Glad to donate my day of rest to a good cause. You know the routine - if you continue to rest and push the fluids you'll be back to your NOTHING self in no time.

A whole lot of more than NOTHING going on today. Holy Mackeral.

I Love the toys for the kids, Operation Shoebox, Donating Blood (most of it). Where were you guy's when I lived elsewhere? Hanging with you all should keep me out Of Colemen.

I felt a little woozy this morning but just kept moving, now is the time for a Nappy Poo! Didn't get one all week. We went to Claremont. Nice area for sure but glad to be back home safely. Didn't see not even One NOTHING Deer.

Maybe I do know how to take a good nap after all. I just woke up and was trying to figure out why my husband wasn't in bed too........at 5:30 in the morning! Lol. Man, I was really out of it. If I didn't have something cooking on the stove and could smell it I probably would have rolled over and went back to sleep.

So Nucky, I see you're been doing NOTHING but checking out the roadways to be sure they are clear of any deer before I get down there. You're the best NOTHING friend ever!
