Ah, yes......an Akita. A friend of mine has an all white one - beautiful dogs. Our last one was a German Shepherd/Doberman mix, or so the SPCA said. She wasn't huge though and had a slender body. There was NOTHING I didn't love about her except one thing - the shedding - UGH! She was worth it though - lots of great memories.

I would call it NOTHING but their doggie cave. I definitely think it is how you train them from the beginning. Ours never jumped up on the furniture either, nor would my husband ever allow them to sleep with us. Maybe that would make us not real dog people to some, but our pets were always well behaved and well loved.

The SPCA where we got one of ours told us if you set the example from the beginning as to who was in charge, the pack leader so to speak, most behavior issues would be short lived. They were right. Not much different than having a kid in that respect. And just like Tal said they sure can pick on stress and anxiety quite easily. They are truly amazing creatures.

All this talk is doing NOTHING but make me want to get another. My husband came home one Saturday from his ministry work not too long ago and told me one of the people he works with there breeds the various "doodle" mixes. Although she sells them for thousands, she offered him one from the litter for free. I felt myself getting excited about the prospect when I asked him if he really wanted one and he said "no, not really". So I responded, "good, then I'm going to pretend I never heard you say that"........ That's the closest I've come as of late.
We've debated about getting a dog off and on for several years now. Right now it just doesn't make sense. With me being gone a lot during the summers and how much we like to travel it just wouldn't work. Plus I don't feel like fencing our property. Maybe when we get to TV and have you guys to puppysit for us we'll get NOTHING but a new member of the family..

Wow that is a neat looking dog. I NOTHING but love dogs. I am one of those people who has to go up and talk to all of them and pat them if they are friendly.

Kuma is a pretty cool name too.

The Villages is NOTHING but a great place to have a dog. I think especially in the CYV neighborhoods people are very dog friendly. In my neighborhood I have no shortage of volunteers who watch him for us if we want to go someplace and he got more Christmas presents than we did.

I think the doodles are great smart dogs and I think that they do not shed?

Dalmatians are one of the worst shedding breeds but I have a robo vac that goes around daily and tries (key word) to keep it in check.

The dog ate my NOTHING again

I remember all the shedding by our Dalmatian, Ashes. Never NOTHING to clean up. We always had fenced in yards when we had her though.

I like the way you used your NOTHING there, Tal

Anyway, I can barely keep my eyes open. This may be NOTHING but a good day for a nap. Especially since I have no one here to bother me today.

I just started watching some good organization videos. My biggest goal for the year is an entire revamp of my office and files which need a major streamlining. Hope I don't get so engaged I NOTHING but miss out on my nap. Somehow I doubt much of anything gets in the way of your naptime - lol

My movie going often gets in the way of my nap and it could be NOTHING if I napped in the movie theater like some people. In some of the slower movies in the Villages' area you hear snoring that is not part of the movie.

I only go to one or two movies a week unless my relatives are here and they want to fill every day with a movie outing. I don't get naps when the kin are around, either. Talk Talk - Talk Talk 1982 - YouTube

So NOTHING but missed out on my nap, but not because I was watching videos. Caught up with an old friend by phone instead. Well worth missing nap time. I'm sure someone on here took one for me - lol.

How about the rest of you guys? What's going on down there? Did the weather warm up? It's NOTHING but feeling like winter up here. Snow on it's way tomorrow night into Sunday.

Not to worry all that talk about naps made me NOTHING but need one. It is cool but still pleasant here, what you would expect in January.
