I still find myself on occasion in tears over a dear friend who left this world almost 3 years ago now. The other day I traveled a route I don't travel very often and drove by a restaurant where we last had lunch before she passed. It is only by way of the connection one has with another through God that one can feel such grief and joy all in one instance. There is just NOTHING deeper than that in life. God bless you, my friend.......

Thanks, Abby, this guy is NOTHING but the funniest person I have ever met. He called back after I finished posting last night and we talked for almost 2 hours, neither one of us do that ever. We laughed so hard for so long over things that happened 25 years ago and went through the years and with all the life things that happen to everybody we realized how lucky we were to have crossed paths. I picked him up for a Meeting 24 years and 10 months ago and we have faced everything together. The death his of his wife was explosive in his life and then his brother died and he made it through each entire sober and intact.
A short prayer: Dear God Thank You For What You've Given Me, Thank You For What You've Taken From Me, Thank You For What You've Left Me.
We agreed we had no regrets and never postponed going out to have a great meal and laugh. He said when he gets better he's going down here and that he would sleep in his van on the ride down. I don't think so, I'll go get him and bring him back if he wants to go back.
He would sleep in his van because he is the cheapest SOB I ever me, he squeaks when he walks but he helps people less fortunate than himself and does it quietly.
It's all good even if the worst happens. Thanks For Your Kind Words. He would fit into NOTHING perfectly but doesn't have the patience for using a computer. Just teaching him to text for the first time in 2017 was a trip!
