Angry BEWARE of Unique Landscapes and Design

Just my experience with the above company. This company is NOT reliable and does not do what they say they will do. Owner's name is Kyle Henderson. Should he or any representative approach you please beware.

The O'Baid family fell prey to this unethical young man. He did a good job at first but never completed the work. In my opinion we were overcharged. We asked for a weeping bottle brush tree and we got just a bottle brush tree. He starts your job but before he finishes he is taking on other clients. He promised to finish our job up front in 2 hours and it took him a more than a couple of weeks and still never finished the job he was hired for.

I do not recommend anyone to do business with him.

Default Why go with the unknown???

I'm sorry you had a difficult time with these landscapers, but why would you go with a company who not many have heard from when the reliable ones are talked about so frequently on this site?? If you do a search on landscapers you will find ample companies to choose from who are reliable. If people are trying to go the less expensive route then you may be getting what you pay for. When hiring any contractor, TOTV is an excellent source of information before making a decision. Best of luck.

am continually surprised at the gullibility and naivety of many villages residents. we seem to be smart enough to purchase a home, but when it somes to many kinds of contractors our common sense and prior life experiences are not being used. i am amazed how many of us only consider price when purchasing items for the home (landscaping, carpet, furniture) and overlook quality, trust and honesty, business longevity and ethics, and many other things that enable us to make an educated choice. why do we assume that if somone has a pickup truck and a shovel that they are suddenly a reputable landscape contractor? do they have a physical location(not a p.o. box) where you can view plants? do they have a business license (federal tax i.d.#)? proof of liability insurance? client references?
please take the time to make an intelligent choice.

While I agree with the advice to do due diligence in hiring any contractor, one of the "schemes" I have seen in my neighborhood is that a contractor will come into a new neighborhood and do a fantastic job on a house. Neighbors see the work and hire the contractor to do their home. The subsequent work never mets the standard of the first job. Bad reviews seem to contradict earlier good reviews and subsequent prospective clients are confused. Then the contractor moves on to the next new neighborhoods and the sequence continues.

Mikeod is correct - these scammers are slick as greased lightning. There is a pretty simple cure, one which way too many of us ignore - DON'T PAY IN ADVANCE! If they have not been paid, they will return and return and return until they get the work done to you satisfaction and you pay them their money. Paying them in advance is an open invitation for them to take your money and run, do slipshod work (what can you do about it - they've already been paid), or blow you off on customer support (why bother - they already have your money). Part with your money only when you are satisfied - never before. If they can't live with that, maybe it is a good idea to find someone else who can.
