Also, did you know the amount of nitrogen any service can apply to a lawn gets less and less

That is false. The amount has not changed under the law.

My conspiracy theory is that they don't want the grass to grow too much as it would make their grass cutting service more difficult.
Actually the contractors are limited to 2# of nitrogen by law. If you have good soil, this amount works. If you have poor soil you could need 3-4# of nitrogen.

Hold off on the Arborist. I doubt it’s from too much Nitrogen.
Thanks, but the leaves are a golden color as if they are changing color for Fall, they’re not spotted. The tree still has a lot of green leaves too and is very full, so only some leaves are gold.

Ok, let’s go thru it step by step.

Attached is a “AI” cause list for Yellow Leaves on Crepe Myrtle’s.

First up is fall, we can rule that out.

Next is the fungus….still possible.

Water Stress - is the tree in a “raised bed” or is it planted in the lawn. If in the lawn does it have a dedicated irrigation head? If so, is it operational? Is the tree also exposed to irrigation meant to water your lawn. So is it getting both? Do you monitor rainfall and reduce your watering when we get frequent rains?

Nutrient deficiency - our soils are very high in PH. Are the leaves green with yellow veins?

Pest Infestations - any sign of a sticky residue on the leaves or a black sooty mold ?

If none of the above…take a photo of area, leaves and tree and post. I’m more than happy to help id cause.

Did you check your pH? Needs to be below 6.8 or your grass is sick and screaming for the bugs to come put it out of its misery. The average sand is 7.2, blocking iron and other micro-nutrients. The black cow helps the top inch for a short time, but you will need to do more.
