Default Flowering Schrub for Shady Area

I am looking for a flowering shrub which does well in an area without direct sunlight. Any ideas?

Oakleaf Hydrangea might work for the spot.

Call around to some nursery’s to check inventory or alternatives. Best to have details on the location of choice ; width, height and info on sun (none, part or indirect) as well as how damp the soil gets in that area.

If it’s a smaller space, like 3’ wide, you could even do a Peace Lilly or a group of them. Granted, not cold hardy, but it would put on a good show 11 months of the year.

Hostas might work or even a Variegated Schefflera. Schefflera has green / cream colored leaves which would add color. They do flower but it’s not dramatic.
