I think it took about 3 or 4 months. We do still have some my husband says but all of the bare spots and everywhere has been filled in with grass that you don't notice the torpedo grass nearly as much. I walked out there yesterday and didn't see any. I had asked the Fertigator people about how they get rid of the weeds and they said they don't spray them that they make all of the other grass so healthy that it fills in so nicely. Our grass was in really bad shape when we started with Fertigator. We had another well-known lawn care company for the two years prior and they wouldn't spray for obvious mold, kept telling us it was drought. I finally fired them. Our neighbor used Fertigator and I called them. They said our lawn was being mowed way too high and fungus was growing underneath. They told us to lower the mower and give it a tight mow. Then they used a machine to dethatch the lawn. After that they sprayed for the fungus two different times. Within a month things were looking much better. Now it is about 3 months later and we have one of the best lawns around. The price was about $50 a month but that includes lawn and shrub fertilizer, pest control and termite protection. You're welcome to come and see our lawn for yourself. We live in Hadley. Just PM me.

Much of the St. Aug. I see 'weeding up' Zoysia, probably came in with the zoysia sod.
Many of the St. Aug fields are now Zoysia, due to TV deciding that Zoysia is what they want to use, back when they couldn't close houses due to heavy rains making it impossible to get St. Aug. St. Aug. is a much better grass in this area, as it requires the same amount of water as Zoysia to be healthy, can handle more water without getting fungus problems, andrepairs itself faster after insect infestations. |

This is what I was saying based on past experience. It was engineered for this climate and soil. Many northerners don't like it because it looks different than "what we had up north". Like palm trees, the grass here IS different and that's just the way it is.
