There R several (ok two) landscapers that R so obvious in having their customers post very flattering posts about how great their work was.
Some even look scripted by them, case in point Example one two What R they doing here.. giving these folks a free plant to post? The other thing is to say they did a nice job without a pic......let's just say without a pic it didn't happen. But there's one that has their customer post for the very first time on TOTV here about them. then the landscaper a few minutes later post pictures for them, that wasn't planned I suppose ![]() ![]() Do we all look that stupid? Ok there R some good landscapers but come on guys get true unsolicited endorsements from your customers. Make that your New Years resolution, stop insulting our intelligence. Better yet why not post information on design ideas, info on plant/tree care contribute to the forum it's not all about getting your name out there, build your own reputation. We don't see your posts when folks need help with a plant related problem...rant over. ![]() .

I pretty much agree with Jimbo2012. Some "endorsements" are pretty obvious.
In a similar vein, the other thing that raises my hackles is to see a very disparaging post about some business and then note that it is the first (or near first) post from that TOTV member. These often seem to be about eating establishments (but not always). I always think (to myself, of course) 'Someone has an ax to grind'. |

Actually, advertising IS all about getting your name out there. Then, when you need help or advice, the name pops right up in your head.

If I need help these guys will pop out of my head! If they want new customers this isn't the way to to it IMO. I think they lose credibility with I guess U can call it false advertising. If they wish to show their creative ability make a good web site with pics of work they did. If I recall correctly the only landscaper I've seen post here with useful info has been Ron, he explained something about roses a few weeks ago, totally informative. .

Along comes your post and although I thought it was a bit aggressive, I did read it, thought about it and checked out the examples you gave. I now see your point for the post since I've noticed the following from the examples. The three posts were made by two alleged posters or should I say profiles. In examining those posts I noted one common denominator that confirmed something was not right. Someone said that they looked similar. Well they were right. One thing I found within all three was one common sentence with the same typing error. That sentence is "Just a all around anything outside company." Everybody see it? To me that indicates that the preparation of the message was made by one person and that the messages were either all made by the same person or they were provided by that same preparer to the posters! BTW, the landscaper mentioned in those posts was one of the four we contacted for estimates. We got a timely response from the first three, Stellar, McGowan and TerraScapes, all of which have excellent plans and estimates. The fourth never did responded back. Should we be thankful for that?

Mansfield landscaping must be doing well. To well in fact to even come out and give us an estimate...they told us to bring them a photo of our lot and it would be between $8K - $15K....REALLY!! If that is how they treat a potential customer imagine how they would treat you once they have your business. First impressions mean a lot to me and their lack of interest in our business speaks VOLUME. Taking our money and business elsewhere.

The villages will be built out in around a year and a half. The good landscape contractors who give fair prices and quality work will be around after the buildout. Don't be in a hurry to get everything done right away. Take your time and talk to several different landscape contractors .
